How is this panel fitted.

I need to replace the inner panel that the wing bolts onto, how is this fitted to the car, is it spot welded .

would you use a 6mm or 8mm drill to remove the spot welds

There are special spot weld drills from Wurth and Harbor Freight. You can clean off the panel with a scotchbrite pad to see if there are any dimples indicating spot welds. Others will have to advise on the specifics of how this panel is attached. I wouldn't use a regular drill to drill off spot welds.

I second Ahlem's comment...use the spot weld bits. You can also get them at must autobody supply stores.

One note of caution- the inner 'wing' on a 2002 is extremely structural.

So alignment, attachment and fastening are of critical importance,

and there are a LOT of interrelated seams holding the whole mess together.
