Odometer and trip odometer not working.

I just installed a new (to me) gauge cluster hoping to fix this, but still have no odometer or trip meter. I have serched and found many threads on rebuilding these, but want to confirm something else is not wrong since both meters are not turning on both units. My spedo and everything else works great.

If the speedo is working, then it sounds like an internal issue with the gearing. The Odo/trip counters get their revs from the speedo cable and since the speedo is working, it's likely an internal issue.

if the speedo works, then the cable is ok. problem is in the gears for the odo.

you can try to fix yourself...or just send the thing to someplace like north hollywood speedometer. it will come back in perfect functioning order, recalibrated to your tire and gear size, and looking brand new. no brainer decision in my opinion.

odometergears.com. They sell the little plastic gears--with instructions--that you need to repair your odometer.

Much cheaper than sending it out, and since you have two, if you mess one up you can always send the other one out.

I'd say go for it.

Aparently if the odo stops working, the trip meter also stops like mine did. Sounds like a well documented fix to a common problem. Thanks for the help.
