Suggested tire pressure for running 185 70 13 on 1974 2002

Recommended Posts

This is very subjective and there is no one correct answer. Start with the BMW recommendation for pressures - 26PSI F/R and play with it from there until you think it's the best combination of response/ride quality/MPG.

I personally am running 28PSI - F/32PSI - R. But you may not have the same shocks/springs, lowered on poly bushes, or the same tire model/brand.

Cheers!

I run 30 on both, close enough for me. I also run 14's but similar concept.

I run the same as "asifallasleep" above, but it can depend on what mods from stock your car sports. With more weight in front than the rear 2002s tend to have understeer, which is the reason I run 2# more in the front than the rear.

It depends on several factors (tire itself, driving style, suspension, sway bar, offset, etc)

The best answer is to start with something like 30 and work you way up, until it feels just right. I am running 36. This works for regular road conditions. If you are planning a track day the procedure is much different.

Went down to 30F 28R. Did not like the ride on 32F, 30R.
