  1. Ahh, got it. The radiator requires really long bolts to reach the brackets on the body. I probably have some sitting around here somewhere. Thanks!
  2. Hey all, Getting ready to put in a radiator from a 320 and I had a couple questions, I was hoping somebody might know about. 1) It appears that the mounting brackets are on the wrong side. Don't know why that would be, but matching them up turns the rad around the wrong way. (Picture might help) Is it easier to pull of the top and bottom and turn those around or is it easier to remove the side plates and flip those? 2) It seems like the 320 rad is a bit taller than the O2. Are there clearance issues with the hood? I know I need to drill new holes, but is there anything else I should know from those who have done this before? Thanks much! Sean H
  3. Wow, wish I saw this earlier. I don't really have anything much to add, but I know I saw a thread on this before. If you do an exhaustive web search you might find the guy that tried this. It was years ago, but I'm sure its still out there. He had the same problem with engine height that you have. Not that it's a problem really. I absolutely love that engine. Honda is one of a kind in their ability to make an economical sport engine with great longevity. A buddy of mine and I are putting one of these, as well as a full S2000 suspension in a Toyota AE86. The goal is to take it to the Newfoundland Targa in a couple years. Cheers!
  4. Dang. Looks like new wheels need to be added to the shopping list. Thanks for the info guys.
  5. Brian Capp is the aficionado around these parts. He makes a business of restoriing O2s out in Northbend. He will sell you parts, but you usually have to go pick them up and he seems to prefer to do the work himself when possible. Ie, you drop off your car and pick up a nicely restored one sometime later - like any mechanic shop really. I haven't contacted him in a while, but his info used to be Brian Capp NW 02 SIG Chairman M-ten Autowerke tel 425 888 4002 Another source for great parts and good advice is AutoSport, in Seattle. You need to pay top dollar but these guys really know their stuff and are very helpful. I consider them to be one of the premeir locations for machine shop work. When they were redoing my block I noticed their shop was full of blocks from ferraris and jags and some cars nearly 100 years old. Fun stuff. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me at sean_harris@hotmail.com Good Luck!
  6. I really prefer to go through tire rack and support the board, but the tires there are mostly all season sport. I was hoping to get something a little more aggressive - like summer-only sports. Did I miss something on the site? If not, where should I go to order sportier tires? The tires I currently have on are 185/70R/13. I think I'll stay with that size unless I can go a bit larger. Thanks!
  7. Was just about to post about the same thing, but you beat me to it! Not only did Roy finish, but he got first overall. Very impressive. http://www.targanewfoundland.com/pdf/Results/2007%20Results.pdf This was the best thing I've seen on speed for a long time. Here's the car. Pretty crazy paint job. http://www.darlingtonmediaworks.com/garth/TN07_Sept10/source/07r98f161.htm
  8. What's the story on this? I have a dual 45 weber setup and notice that many people with similar setups have the fuel pump on the head blocked off. Anyone care to give me a short lesson on why and when this is appropriate? Thanks!
  9. good suggestions all! thanks. I use max's site, but have trouble finding things due to a lack of a good search function. bavauto has pissed me off so many times now, but have to admit they have a really good web site. Thanks again!
  10. I went to two shops today looking for a vacuum hose that runs from my break booster to the intake manifold. But for some reason no one carried a hose this large. Does anyone know a good source for this part. Searching a couple web sites didn't help much either (bavauto, mobile tradition etc) Thanks! Oh yeah, just wondering, is there supposed to be a gasket between the head and the exhaust manifold?
  11. Pretty neat article here about Max Hoffman - thought some of you might enjoy it. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/18/automobiles/18HOFFMAN.html
  12. Now I get it! I'm missing a piece. The large bolt doesn't have the two bell cranks needed to attach the booster to the break rod. Might be time to go to a junk yard. Does mobile tradition sell this? Thanks guys.
  13. It shouldn't be upside down. I checked that the hose extruding from the outside of the booster is supposed to facing the engine. I believe that's correct. However, I seem to suffer from idiocy. I'm just not getting this. From the look of the fuzzy repair manual pictures it looks like the attachment from the booster fits to the brake light switch and not the rod attached to the brake pedal. But that just doesn't seem right. Also, I appreciate your reply above, but I don't see how this thing rotates down. I'm sure this seems overly simple to many of you. If anyone has the time to explain this like they would to a child it would be much appreciated.
  14. So I'm putting my brake booster back into the car and am running into a problem. These two are supposed to connect, no? However, they are on opposite sides of the steering column and a good four to five inches apart diagnolly. It's been years since I took this thing out, I can't remember what it was like at the time. Any advice?
  15. a buddy of mine works at Group 2 Motorsports here in Seattle and I went there to look at an Alfa Milano booster today. I wonder if I was looking at one with ABS because it looked like it was almost exactly the same diameter as the stock 2002 non-tii booster. I just am looking for this because I've heard I'll have clearance issues getting my itg filter past the stock booster.
  16. I heard via Jeff Ireland that the brake booster an Alfa Milano can be used as a substitute for a tii booster. Anyone have any information on this or know of other possible subs? Can I reuse my master cylinder? Thanks!
  17. . . . think zinc is something you wish was stamped to your sheetmetal not a vitamin. . . . know what the hell POR 15 is.
  18. Hey peoples, Just started a new job and I don't have my old files yet. That means no cool rotating BMW desktop wallpapers and screen saver. But was thinking, if anyone has any cool O2 wallpapers that they would like to share, that'd be super! General BMW pictures are cool too, infact, I like all car pictures. My folder is 10k and growing. Thanks!
  19. I bike by this place every day, and my babies have spent many an afternoon here. Some of the stuff that was in the yard this time deserved to be shown here though. Check these out. Anyone belong to any of these?
  20. Right -- Petronix is only the points. So I didn't know if I needed other upgrades to get the Petronix to function or if it can operate as a stand-alone with the stock parts.
  21. Perfect. Thank you. Sorry if that was your kitten I just killed by not looking in the faq section
  22. Hey guys, what else should I be getting to compliment my petronix? Any other upgrades to distributer needed or advisable with this? New coil? Ireland offers the Bosch blue and red coil etc, but I don't really know if those are right for me? Experience out there on this popular upgrade? Thanks for the help!
  23. Do you know if the horns for an idf like the ones through the site above, will mate up to a DCOE?
