Yup I’m a member there and have been watching the for sale forum. Hoping to find an e30 that’s owned by someone a little older than 16 though, which is about the age of 95% of the population at rev limited...

Rev the engine up and slide your foot off the clutch...that’s how you can tell if it’s lsd or not. Two tire marks on the pavement is what you want to see.

I imagine you could rebuild the motor as an alternative to purchasing a new one, or if you can’t get a new one anymore. Most of these dead motors come back to life if you clean them up and lubricate the bearings. Main problem is the poor design by bmw exposing the motor to the elements. The early cars had a cover over the motor blocking out any moisture and dirt but they apparently stopped installing the cover on later cars.
