  1. Did you clip the brackets directly to the bumper rails or did you put something in between so it wasn't metal on metal? It's not exactly a snug fit from what I'm seeing—it will have some point contact I think.
  2. I tried to burnish it a bit with what I hand on hand for my Dremel; results were so so. I have some fancy (#8) wax I'll throw on the edges at some point.
  3. Cut and stitched up a leather brake handle cover. And a bit of the direction I'm heading with the floormats, etc. Please keep in mind I have never cut and sewn leather before in my life. Burnishing was so so.
  4. Hey, how do you like those headlight mounting brackets? I think I just bought a pair....I messed around with them a bit but haven't installed them permanently.
  5. European Style Shoulder Belt WWW.RETROBELT.COM Our “Euro-style” retractable lap and shoulder belts work well in many post-1968 German, British and Japanese classic cars. Please note that your particular install may require additional hardware that can be purchased separately. However most installs Same as above, slightly used, but good condition comes with all the hardware it came off with, but might be missing a washer. INCLUDES US only shipping
  6. Correction: I have the button, I meant button adapter ring I think, honestly I'm not sure what the name of it is which might be why I'm having trouble finding it. I think it looks something like this, but in chrome
  7. Lot of patients, magnification, and this file... Got me to here And it slid on with just light push and the teeth seem solid. Yay. Now I need to find a horn button
  8. Got a few options to start trying with
  9. I suppose I have nothing to lose by giving it a shot. Some searching here turned up that if I do have to swap it out it wouldn't be too bad.
  10. Well here's the problem. Is this salvageable with a lot of patience and a small (or perhaps large) file?

  12. Hey Gang, How much persuasion is this Nardi Adapter hub supposed to need to get onto the steering post here? The hub I pulled off was pretty trashed so it slipped off but it seems to measure roughly the same as the new hub. However when I try to put the new hub on no alignment seems to make it slip on. Do I need a mallet as part of this operation? Happy Friday!
  13. Hello, So glad I found this in my searching. IN! PM following shortly Dugan
  14. It only took about 16 months.....but it's finally done. I had intended to keep up this thread along with the build, but I also thought the build would only take 4 months. Life goes on. More photos, videos over the weekend hopefully. Still a lot of things I want to clean up or tweak, but driving it mostly. IMG_1532.MOV
  15. been a bit, but still moving onward. Hope you all had a nice holiday season. IMG_2844.jfif IMG_2849.jfif
  16. Have decided to skip the rear brace for a number of factors, and go (I think) with a lithium Ion battery Some more pics as we near paint
  17. Pricey, but nice. Not sure they are the right kit for me, but "in-stock" is becoming a more critical variable. Body is ready for paint; it didn't need much from what I can see and hear. I expect I'll have paint pictures in the next week or two.
  18. Been a couple of weeks so I wanted to check in, but also have my first question for the hive mind. Build is going along smoothly though some limited options on parts in stock have required some chasing down, and one item I'm stuck on. I was going to go with the racetep rear brace and battery kit, but they are out of stock. Any good alternatives for front/rear kit with battery relo? Drums Here are the wheels I am going with.
