To see the contrast between the patina of the visible paint and what it must have looked like new, I have only to open the trunk.  I do sometimes and just gaze at it lol.  

Played with the idea covering the bare bits with some kind of patterned racing stripes, I tried a swatch of a darker green on the roof.  I like it okay, but imagine I'll buff it back off.  (Yep, that's John Deere green from a rattle can.  oh the horror )

Yeah, a 2016 device was likely Bluetooth 4.2 (or early as electronics designs tend to get repackaged endlessly as "new").   5.0 came out at the end of 2016.  Current is 5.2 (2019).

My nieces girlfriend is an Electrical Engineer and I thought to engage her by suggesting re-plumbing the guts of a vintage Blaupunkt with a SBC to make it a bluetooth receiver (among other things).  If she turns me down, I'll likely go the far more simpler route of one of these adapters as ultimately my goal was just making a connection with her.  The only thing I usually listen to while driving is books and there's plenty of low tech ways to achieve that ?

Looking for a shift boot for my 76.  Pelican Parts has them for $56 + shipping.  Seems a lot for a bit of rubber ;). Hoping for a serviceable used one for less?  Thanks

I searched this site for Mint Green/Grun for all years of the 2002 and couldn't find it, @'76mintgrün'02.  Maybe someone told them it wasn't close and they quit selling it ?

Read elsewhere that W&N was good stuff and ordered the fenders.  Wish I'd read this first. ?

Definitely hadn’t imagined taking the trunk off or rear windows out to do all that clamping.  
 

Also, unless you cut away a lot of the oem fender beneath, this wouldn’t be a weight reduction.   How do you do that with them still bolted on?  Plasma cutter?

I’m still titleless , so haven’t driven it far or fast enough to have experienced this firsthand, but @rocketman told me when he delivered the car that the Speedo was calibrated for the 5spd transmission the car no longer had (back now with its original 4spd) and what the car reports as 75mph is closer to 60mph. 
 

Not an issue of any immediacy, but once it’s titled/registered/insured and I’m driving it regularly, it might be useful to know my actual speed.  
 

so is this easily corrected?  What’s the process?

What gauge of sheet metal are the doors/body?

initially I imagined I’d just cut the bottom 2 & 1/2 inches off the door straight across and butt weld a matching rectangular piece in its place, but looking at the interior structure of the door that seems less feasible.  I don’t have any skill or means to cut a matching curved replacement piece.  I suppose I could lap weld a rectangular piece to the outside and then weld along the curve within.  It wouldn’t look smooth, but beyond that I struggle to imagine how to do it at my level of skill (a metal arts class a long time ago ~ so essentially none).   
 

Thoughts?

No affiliation to seller.  I just saw it there. It came up on one of my parts notifications.  Talked to the guy briefly.  He said he took it in trade for work and doesn’t know much about it other than it needs a tune up.
