  1. In looking around I came across this eBay listing for a NOS set of Talbot mirrors with the original BMW boxes - and they're also Berlin 333s, so it looks pretty clear that at least for some time while they were offered that is the model BMW supplied. $1950 for the pair!! 😲 BMW SPECIAL !!! 333B TALBOT 333 B MIRRORS CHROME VINTAGE ACCESSORY CLASSIC NOS WWW.EBAY.COM ALEXWOA MUSEUM.
  2. The Sonderzubehör Special Equipment Catalog lists 1600-2 and 2002 as applications - but that's not a Berlin 333. Hopefully I'm not putting out bogus information and the model info I have is not wrong. It doesn't matter much to me in particular because I know the mirrors for my car are original to it, but given my spare with it's OEM box and the correct part number on it, I'm guessing that maybe BMW changed the model they used somewhere along the line?
  3. Hi Everyone! Just to share some info that took a little work to track down - nothing horrible, but I figured that I'd share it here so that it's easy to find for anyone else. So, the Talbot mirror that was offered as an OEM accessory for our cars is a model Berlin 333. I was able to track down a NOS one for a spare. 😊 For parts contact Günther Hansele at Aardvark International in Whittier California. He has had molds made for all the plastic parts and can make as many as anyone needs and has mirrors and mounting hardware as well (the spare unit I picked up has different mounting hardware compared to my old ones) - parts are not inexpensive, but at least they are available. Attached is a pdf with a diagram of the parts. Hope this helps someone, and that we can help keep Günther in business so these parts are available for the future. 4. Power Brake Exchange does good work in my experience with them - they powder coat the unit when they rebuilt it, so it loses a little originality. For me, having a brake fluid resistant coating is a plus, I didn't ask if there's an option for them to just paint it or leave it as-is. Barrett
  5. Wow - I have no idea where the photo that is attached to my original post came from!!?? I posted from my phone, but I've never seen that pic before - I guess we should all be glad it was at least 02 releated!!!! 😲
  6. I'll be keeping/returning my 67 1600-2 6 volt. I'm in the process of getting it back on the road, it has a 12 volt alternator so it looks like someone started but didn't finish converting it to 12 volt. So does anyone have a 6 volt generator that didn't make it into the neighbors pool? Can a generator or starter be rebuilt to produce/be more powerful? No battery in the car, anyone know of a 6 volt battery that fits? Thanks, Barrett
  7. eBay seller rfurtado1 also will sell you a key cut with your code.
  8. The first tii came out in 71, I didn't see anything right off that new. I have the impression that the binder has a mix of everything from that time frame up to about '69. Barrett
  9. Hello everyone - In going through the goodies stashed in the trunk of a now not so recent purchase I realized that what I'd thought was the factory service manual is not, but rather a whole bunch of early technical service bulletins. By early, in a quick look I found ones as early as '63 and the latest ones are '68. Anyone have an opinion as to if it's worth the effort to scan them? There's a full three ring binder full of them.
  10. Do you have the temp-time switch, #7, 13621355006 as shown below?
  11. I'm not 100% sure that the translation was accurate that it is for sale, but I suspect that someone here might need one and be motivated to clarify - Walter Thomas WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Eine Rarität, die nicht mehr so schnell angeboten wird. Kugelfischer Einspritzpumpe für...
  12. PM sent. FYI for others, there's still some wire on the spool. The karma payback has been huge. Barrett
  13. Hit up a local shop that repairs PCs and ask them for a couple of dead hard drives. The magnets you can harvest from them are strong enough to make blood blisters if they snap together with a piece of skin between them. Laptop hard drives have smaller magnets - use a stiff piece of wire to fish a string through the member, tie on the magnet and pull it through. (it's hard to push the magnet through as it wants to snap down on anything ferrous. I have hot glued them to a rod when I had a straight shot and just needed uber-magnetism).
  14. Looking at realoem it shows these two four speed - I'm not familiar enough with either to know which one is considered the short necked model. From what I see in the parts manual, the bottom-most of the two transmissions was in the ti and TiSA. If that's what you're looking for I have the part number (and have a couple that are earmarked for my transmission should it need them - but I'm happy to use a Faro arm to get you a 3D model basic dimensions if having those would allow you to have them made.) 15. I have a 2 liter m10 that was prepped by Nerus - it really deserves to have the matching valve cover. 180hp, 0 miles since rebuilt in 74, 200+ psi cold compression numbers across all four cylinders! I know it may take forever to find one, so just hanging this out here for when someone needs to find a deserving home for one. Thanks, Barrett
  16. Have you measured the thickness of it?
  17. I'm lucky to have a wife who does get it - I had a potential lead on a stamped front hood trim piece, she told me to give her the information so she could buy it for me for valentine's day. Turns out the guy didn't have it any more, but what a good present for someone who owns a '67, right?
  18. The first two or three letters on a German license plate are the region code, KF is for Kaufbeuren, Bavaria - as you know, home of Alpina prior to moving to Buchloe where they are today. There evidently is some debate as to whether or not the plates in the below picture were Burkard Bovensiepen's personal plates (and if the picture was touched up to make it more dramatic):

  20. I suspect that just because it has Bilstein stamped on it doesn't particularly mean that they are who made converted the struts to using adjustable perches - I picked up this set from a Swedish hillclimb racer, judging by the welds they were just done by some individual. Barrett
  21. Do you know if the V1 struts had negative camber built into them? Per Google translate the ad states the a negative camber kit is available on request - would that have been negative camber plates?
  22. Found one - NOS with the box and papers. Some guy in Australia has reproduction stickers that I can use to make it an exact match 🙂.
  23. +1 for the smoke being valve guides. I have a rebuilt Nerus m10 that hasn't been run since it was rebuilt in 74 where the compression numbers are all over 200 psi. I don't know the compression but I'm told it dyno'd around 180 hp. Do you know the specs for the rebuild? 20210818_205329.mp4
