  1. I rolled it back and forth and that seemed to help alot. I think actually driving it now will do the trick. Thanks for the advice. FYI: My fender distances measured 24" spot on from ground to fender lip on all four corners. After the install I am 22 1/2 in the rear (1.5" drop) and 23 in the front (1.0" drop). I'm hopeful the fronts will come down a bit more with some driving. I also removed the spacer. JSO
  2. No offense taken. i read enough posts about putting the fronts in the rears because they are shorter. I triple checked this. But I will check again tonight to be 110% sure. Thanks. The strut tube seemed straight to me. The insert slid right in with no binding. I did not have an alignment done prior to the install. However, visually the camber looked right and the car did not pull or anything. I just expected some negative camber and I got uber positive camber. I may take pics tonight. JSO
  3. I did not loosen or tighten the control arm connections. Just pushed it down with my foot. I'm damn sure I have the springs right - I'll recheck - but I checked that several times during the install. Maybe rolling it or driving it. Thanks
  4. Hello, Yesterday I installed H&R springs and Bilstein sports on the 02. I also installed IE fixed camber plates. When I mounted the wheel/tire I noticed alot of positive camber. I took the car off the jack stands and still had positive camber. I stood on the front bumper and loaded the suspension and could not change it. Do I need to drive the car around to get the suspension to "settle" in. Is the something that could have gone wrong that causes this? I did use the technique of pushing the disconnecting the sway bar and pushing down on the control arm to do the install. Also when viewing the strut bearing from the top it looks right - that is, it is biased towards the center of the car. Any thoughts are appreciated. JSO
  5. Im interested in the manfold and downpipe - how much shipped to 47201 (no rush so slowest and cheapest)? I will sent a PM Thanks John
  6. If you dont sell the springs and shocks and want to ship them. I'll take them. (zipcode = 47201) Thanks, John
  7. Ill take the bar. how much total shipped to 47201? Br John
  8. Add me to the list of dissatisfied customers. Same story as the others here - Bryce claimed "Perfect" trim pieces Thay took countless emails and threats to receive. When they arrived after months of waiting... The trim was not as described. I wont put it on my car, had small dents in it. I wont buy anything from him again - thats it for me Clearly, he is over his head and should consider scaling down, FIFO and asking for some integrity for Xmas. JSO
  9. I guess I'll replace them as "patina" would be a bit of an exaggeration. They are pretty torn and cracked. When this leather gets old it gets very brittle and is almost impossible to restore. It actually just breaks apart. I'll keep the originals tho just in case....
  10. I posted pics here awhile back. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/143800-red-interior-door-panel-repair/ Not to hijack the thread but I have done some homework on getting the seats recovered in red leather from a supplier (Global upholstery) they claim the leather patterns will be exact to the original patterns. Any thoughts on whether or not this will increase or decrease the value of the car? Thanks, John
  11. My '76 was within the last 200 made and is anthrazite with red leather. It an automatic too..but I'm planning a 4 speed swap John
  12. Ive read the entire thread - great car - nice craftsmanship. Can you tell me more about your exhaust system? I have been thinking about the IE rear bumper conversion + exhaust. Like the look of the twin tips. How loud is it? Also plugs you used to fill in the holes, are they paintable? Thanks, John
  13. Thanks for info - this is exactly what I was seeking. Much appreciated. JSO5000
  14. I just purchased a spoiler from Pierre and have been deliberating on how to attach it. My searches show that there are several ways to do it with riv-nuts being the most preferred. No problem with that. I would like to see some pics of people who have installed a spoiler /air dam but with the focus on how the screws look. I am interested in screw type, size, material, head shape, etc. So close up pics would be great. Thanks, John
