Loved that game!

Marshall did a really nice write up on this a month ago.

I saw that car yesterday and had the same "WTF" reaction. He's been hanging around with Tyrone a bit too much I suspect.

Ah, si! I see what link I have to use. Tricky. Thanks Steve.

can you post the link to the item?
Sure. It was this: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/149616-wtb-headliner-scraps/

I'm getting this today when trying to leave feedback for a current WTB listing.

Ok, update for those playing along. Firstly, I haven't had time to get my WBO2 sensor hooked up. Life has unfortunately been in the way. With that said, I did get a 38/38 Weber put in, so problems are bit different now. I guess at this point this thread is just for me to catalog my changes and to hopefully help someone else in the future. Current setup is 38/38 with 45 idle jets 1 1/2 turns out, 150 MJs and 180 correctors. Car runs well and will get to redline, but only if I'm easy on the gas pedal. If I floor it it will stumble until I ease the accelerator off a bit. Checked screen at pump and cleaned it out, screen in carb is clean and pickup sender is clean as well. I'm at the point now where the issue seems to be either with the fuel delivery in some way (still need to hook up the pressure gauge and see what it's doing when it stumbles) or it's to do with the ignition. My MPG last tankful (or thereabouts) was ~20mpg, which led me to think that I'm still running rich, hence the change to 150 MJs from the prior 155 MJs.

Really nice - both metalwork and design!

Nicely done!

I don't think people in California or Az or any desert place know what it's like to wake up day after day of 4-6 inches of snow a night. Come to Canada, we will show you what winter is all aboot
Having grown up in OH and having lived in NYC for 9 years, that's precisely why I moved to CA. The "Snowpocalypse" of late 2010 was the final nail in the coffin for my living in NYC.

Wait. So, I just rebuilt my console, and the switch crapped out during the work. So I swapped in a one I had on the shelf. (Mine said "Hazard" the new one has the triangle.) Tell me about this resistor..? You have me all concerned now. LOL I had no idea there were different switches..
AFAIK there's only one that's -08/73 and one that's 08/73-. Maybe he's referring to that?

It's kind of funny that you post this when I finally got the horn to work on my '02 yesterday.
Serious question though, how many of you guys actually use your horn on a semi or even irregular basis? I think in the past 10 years I've only had to honk my horn 1x. It was a good thing that it did work that 1x though...

Looks like the idle adjusting screw. Part #58 on the below diagram. Not sure right off what the default setting is.

I have a small tear that I'd like to patch, so if you have some headliner scraps laying around please let me know.

M10x60 grade 10.9 $1.06
https://www.belmetric.com/bh10x60-hex-bolt-109-p-2387.html?cPath=506_509_398
I used to get my bolts from boltdepot.com when I lived on the East Coast. They have that same bolt for only $.68.

Motorcycle guys love Big Crank. Very reliable and powerful, but light. Weight is a big deal with bikes, dontcha know.
Jose
I prefer one of the lighter weight Shorais or similar in my bike, but to each their own.

The seller has me a little nervous. When asked about a PPI his response was all about the time it would take him and his needing to charge us for that time. The response was way to detailed and seemed like he was trying to discourage having it done saying the nice pictures should be enough. It makes me hear the robot's voice from Lost in Space!
Anyone that is discouraging a PPI IMO must have something to hide, so I'd steer clear. $10K is too much to give to someone for a car with such an unknown history.

If you aren't familiar with this guy's reviews you should be. This one is about a "stanced" E36 M3 and is pretty on point. Not really 2002 related, but close enough.

Another take on this is to use the favicon from the site and somehow incorporate that. I think that would look quite good.

(yessssssssss)
He actually mentions his place of purchase later in the thread. And they are on sale for under 20 each..
Admit it, you've been waiting for a thread to use the lmgtfy in haven't you?
Jetting Question - Main & Corrector

Further update...I suspect I have a multitude of issues, but my most pressing that I'd like to sort now is the venting. My '74 still has the stock setup from the expansion tank to the engine bay (charcoal canister removed), but I think that the line isn't flowing that well and may actually be broken somewhere in the cabin. The easy solution I've found is to run some sort of 'euro vent' via the trunk and bypass the tank for now. I plan to find a universal charcoal canister (I'm open to suggestions as to which one) and run through the expansion tank once I've proved that venting directly via the euro way solves some of my issues. Also, after some research I've decided to move the idle jets up to 60. I'm still on 145 mains and the car seems to be running pretty rich based on it's "bucking" at times, which is oddly worse with more gas than less. Some of the posts I've read about the jetting being somewhere in the 135 range when running idle jets as large as 60. So, plan is to do euro vent tonight and see how that is and then move main jets to 135. With that said, my last 215 miles on the car with 145 main jets got me a good 24mpg (per odometer), which is better than I've ever gotten with the 32/36 prior. So, seems to be going on the right track...
