Need to replace the resonator (long middle exhaust section) on my 73 tii - is that part tii specific? A local place has a brand new Ansa resonator.
Thanks

If you're gonna do it right, the $400 to Esty will be a drop in the bucket relative to the time that's required to properly install the carpet.
Based on what you've shown us I don't think it's worth the time and $$ if you're just going to flip it....my .02 (from someone who took a month to properly install Esty's carpet kit).

Nice!

Should be a great trip! If you do decide to divert to Highway 1 (101 goes inland somewhere south of Eureka and 1 becomes the coastal highway)
be sure to check road conditions. As you've probably heard, California has been hit very hard weather wise and as I type several parts of Highway 1 are closed due to major slide activity. Some of theres repairs will go well into the summer months.

Drive it home...you 2 will get to know each other well.

Loved that!

Rob hosted the 2002 FestWest every year in San Luis Obispo. It was a great event and a great excuse to make the drive for many of us from the north and south. I mean, the current event in LA is nice and all, but not a good excuse for a long weekend drive up the coast...
The Fest Wests he put on were superb - especially in the mid to late nineties.
Too bad they were a victim of their own great success.

Rob has closed down and is no longer doing regular business. His phone line has been disconnected too.
Very sorry to hear this. He's one of the few that I have trusted to work on my car, great person.
Sad end to an era.

Beautiful. E30s are my favorite of the 3 series.

As mentioned, I don't know if the wipers worked or not when the gauges were acting up. She's garaged so wipers in the morning are a non issue.
What didn't work were the fuel, temp gauges and the tach....until the tap, then all bounce(d) to life.

If the fuse(s) is intact, check the connection(s) behind the instrument panel. Same thing occasionally happened on my tii, I first thought it was because of cold weather as after I would drive her for awhile everything would start working again.
Long story short....
One morning all the above were not working again, so I tapped the face of the instrument cluster and BAYAM - all gauges worked again.
Faulty connection in back of the instrument panel.
Shot in the dark hit for once.
Oh....don't think I was using the wipers however.....but they work.

that CANNOT be correct ...... smoking is not allowed in Santa Barbara. And no woman, self-respecting or otherwise, does her hair like that in Santa Barbara. Certainly over in Fresno, but not Santa Barbara.
Sure was in seventy nine, especially for fifty somethings.
50 year olds didn't start looking and acting hot till the late 2000s...

Saw that in the movie's trailer.

Get rid of the factory jack (well, keep it as it does have value) and get a scissors jack as it's much safer and will do a better job.
You'll figure out where to stow it.

Very nice!
Our tii's are twins.....

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish, 2002#2...If you want to simply disconnect the battery from the car's system you can install a battery switch like I did:
A flick of the wrist and it's disconnected. I did run a low amp hot lead to the radio so I wouldn't lose my presets, and I can play the radio without the ignition switch on if desired..

What an incredible life he had.

For $5K she looks like a nice driver....Much better than your typical Toyota fer sure.

You should be able to reach up there and get it.

Variable prices depending on where you live.

^ ^ ^ good find!

I don't know how Hagerty can substantiate how many miles one drives per year. I have a 2500 mile limit, last year I drive my tii 400ish,
they've never asked me what my odo has on it since I can remember.

That's where the turn signal is SUPPOSED to be! I still get mixed up at turns sometimes and end up turning my wipers on instead of the turn signal!
Agree 100 percent - especially when the wipers come to life....

Not trying to start an argument here, but I have never understood the urge to move the battery to the boot/trunk.
.
Better handling, easier oil changes, less clutter in the engine bay, allows for a very easy battery cutoff switch (which keeps the honest people from stealing your car).
Exposed posts are not a problem as they are covered, the Optima has side thread capability.
