  1. I went on a spirited drive the other day and when I got back it was running a little "off". The next day the idle shot up to around 1500. I checked everywhere for vacuum leaks and couldn't find anything. So today I looked again and found that the front Weber 45 was loose... I noticed that the rubber oring on one of the insulators was coming off so I took the carb completely off to fix it. I got that done and began reinstalling the carb only to find that the front of it had a large crack!!! I tried just putting it back on and running it until I got a new carb body, but it appearantly got worse when I took it off... Sooo, I've got a new carb body on it's way and am hoping to have it here in time to switch the guts over am make it to Eureka! We'll see...
  2. Yeah, it's funny the wierd issues that can cause. I recently installed a new motor into a '73 Datsun 240Z and hadn't gotten around to grounding the engine block to the chassis yet. I was having trouble getting the electric fuel pump working right. It was grounded to the chassis and the bettery was grounded to the engine block... It turned out that if I messed with the throttle linkage the pump would work??? It took me sleeping on it to figure out that the linkage was the only chassis ground it had...
  3. HA! Eureka Springs, AR is FAR from dry! I know, I lived there for the past 12 years up until recently...

Would you sell just the cleaners and filters???
  5. How much for the sway bars shipped to 72756? Also, are those Stahl headers? If so, I may be interested in them too. Thanks! Richard
  6. Yes, definately have that flywheel resurfaced! Sanding it will not be enough. Looks like your pressure plate was just plain defective to me. How new is it? Some of them have a lifetime waranty on manufacturing defects... You may want to look into that. Either way, a new clutch assembly and resurfaced flywheel should get you back in business.
  7. Either try tracking it down through your rainbow harness or just make a whole new run of wire through a seperate relay that you can get at any auto parts store...
  8. I had a car do that one time. I looked everywhere and couldn't figure it out, but then I realized that the turn signals weren't self canceling. I took the steering wheel off and cleaned everything up and lubed it. The trun signals self canceled again and the steering went back to center after a turn! I guess that little bit of friction that the turn signals were putting on the column was enough to keep it from centering on it's own. I don't know if this is happening on your 02, but it might be worth looking into...
  9. They do that. Fix? Add throttle. t Oh trust me, I was given 'er plenty of throttle!! I would pull out of the corners fine, but got to where I changed my angle of entry a little to help with the loose tail end... I think the springs and shocks on it are somewhat tired, so I may consider replacing a few things.
  10. Oh Yes!!! I am really looking forward to seeing some great cars and meeting some nice people!
  11. Thanks! I took it to Hunstsville. I left Rogers on 12 and took it to 127 back to 12 then to 23 down to Huntsville... You should take that route sometime. You can go down to 412 and take it back to 540... It is a really fun drive!
  12. Sorry, but it's hard not to share the enthusiasm I have for these cars... I took the '69 on some nice curvies today. It ran GREAT!! The rear gets a bit loose on the really hard corners though. I'll have to address that pretty soon... I threw the pic of an old Dat in for good measure!
  13. What do you mean by "bump steer"? I've only heard this term used whenever a car is lowered and the camber/caster is out...
  14. Or an open diff and a lunched CV, you would see one axle or just the inner axle flange spinning. True True...
  15. Yeah, if your drive shaft was spinning, but the car wasn't moving then its a bad diff...
  16. Those were the "spider" gears from the sounds of it... Are you sure that your clutch is good? Could've been slipping.
  17. Mine has an "11 S 43" on the driver's side of the nose which indicates: 11 teeth on the pinion gear, LSD, 43 teeth on the ring gear respectively... So, it is a 3.909:1 LSD rear end. Yours may have similar markings if it is infact an LSD.
  18. I don't know??? I was told that it is a stock turbo airdam??? I'm new to the 02's myself.
  19. You'll have to pull the steering wheel. On most steering columns there should be a little "tab" that slides along the column as you turn the wheel. The contact area has probably gotten greasy and not getting a connection. Just clean it up a bit and you'll be honking away in no time!
  20. You and me both!!!(grins slyly) I had to get off the highway quick to keep from getting into trouble as there were many popo's out tonight!
  21. Took a few pics of the '69 at Taco Bueno tonight. I played with them a bit, but you can't fix a crappy phone camera! Here you go Bueno heads!!!
