  1. ^^ha! "This car is guaranteed to turn heads everywhere you go" turn away I suppose... .
  2. This is the best I can do. The carrot is wearing other shoes right now.
  3. (nt) In this picture: Aardvark rims 15 x 6.5 front 195 x 50 15 x 7 rear 205 x 50 H and R springs They rubbed only when turning through a dip. does that help?
  4. If it's a Blackberry or IPhone, buy a second protector and use velcro to hold it in place next to the clock on the dash.... or anywhere in car for that matter. Then slide the phone in.
  5. Page 58 reads "Common in UK, Rare in USA" for the color Tiaga. FWIW, that probably means in the 20's maybe fewer came to the US, and if it's original paint, it's probably close to one of a kind in the US now. It would be nice to know if a digest exists somewhere that show's all of the permutations of colors by year, model, and options.
  6. Ha! I missed that one. Trunk material is black and should be gray - is missing the pieces that protect the wheel wells. The front bumper looks bent on the right side. the sunroof has some sort of rubber air diverter placed on the roof. The rear seatback is drilled out to accomodate the battery cable (at least the didn't route it outside of the car) No license plates.
  7. Tii's brought into the United States as 1972 model year: 72's made in 1971 = 422 72's made in 1972 = 2797 total = 3219 there were 22 colors for 1972 (of which Tiaga was a metalic paint - possibly rarer). 3219 / 22 x .15 = about 22 cars for that color, 1972. The one wild card that I do no know is: were all 22 colors available on the tii, or did it have it's own select - possibly smaller group of colors?
  8. If it were for real, that would have been a very very rare car. Of the round tail lights, you may know there were 1302 '73 tii's brought into the US. There were 23 colors that year, so there should have been 60 or 70 Inka's that year. Then from what I've been told - and it could be more urban legend - fewer than 15% would have had sunroofs, meaning that maybe a dozen ORIGINAL US Imported '73 Tii's would have made it into the country with sunroofs sporting that color. Out of those dozen, how many would have survived after 36 years? That's why I looked twice. It makes me wonder how many "US born" Tii's are out there.
  9. On ebay. Not mine. A few things don't add up.... anyone care to play Where's Waldo? I'll start first. It says it's a TII, never been in an accident but has a snorkel. (yes I know the urban legend about a few being damaged in the port upon arrival) There's more. See if you can spot them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250522644289&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#v4-38 "Up for auction is this Rare California Classic BMW Inka Orange 2002 Tii edition. 10. These are the oems. Look original but not the best handling. http://store.coker.com/165hr13-michelin-xas-ff.html Or you can go with these and lower the car a bit (easier said than done). It will handle much better, ride a touch harsher. http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/proxes-r888
  11. If one looked at his terms, they were really tough. He wouldn't ship and wanted cash or bank transfer prior to sale. My guess is he would have gotten a lot more for the car if it was an easy sale. He might have may have gotten your questions and decided that the car was so valuable that he didn't need to waste his time. Or he was possibly looking to value the car on the low side due to some sort of dispute - divorce etc... If he was truly serious, he would have monitored the correspondence.
  12. Blaupunkt Hamburg http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/7647643310_main.asp does Ipod and hands free blue tooth.
  13. Try La Jolla independent for oem alloy rims. They had a few of these about 4 months ago for $225 and the center caps were around $40 or so. I bought a set from a member here for $212 a piece via e-bay and got a spare wheel for just about $225 with shipping from Carl at LJI. I know the member is reading this and has a couple of coveted sets. I'm sure he'll chime in if he wants to sell them. They are getting rare. Carl told me he checked when I bought them that Mobile tradition had 18 wheels left in inventory with no plans to make more. You can still find the original Michelin XAS 165 HR 13's for them at - IIRC - around $150 each. They handle poorly compared to rubber now on the market. If you don't go the oem route, you will have a very hard time finding a decent tall enough tire. The best we were able to do with regard to size on 13" rims with good grip were Toyo 888's, 185/60/13 - very short. Great for handling, not so great for filling up the wheel well. Fortunately I have the wherewithall for lowering the car a bit and changing the rear end to a german spec 3:45. If you have a 3:65 or 3:91, the car will be very buzzy. from what research I did, the other options were Toyo Spectrum 185/70/13 and 175/80/13, also Kumo Solus 185/70/13. My friends wouldn't let me put mini-van tires on my 2002 though, so not an option for me. It's more of a hassle than you'd think with a 13" rim.
  14. Courtesy of Bill Holmes, this bracket holds the fuel line from the fuel filter to the fuel injection pump. It makes a pretty loop. (bottom 2 pictures)
  15. For small touch-ups, try a silver Sharpie. I've had decent luck w/ my BBS's - not perfect, but you can't tell from 3' away. It's fast and cheap. They work on silver steel rims and the speedo surround bezel too.
  16. It's baaaaaaack.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&backtolistreferer=http%3A%2F%2Fmy.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FMyEbayBeta&item=180329941344&viewitem= Not mine either, just saw it.
  17. Hi Jack, Here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories___BMW-2002Tii-2002-Tii-ROOF-with-SUNROOF-72-73-74-75-76_W0QQitemZ180328876763QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQddiZ2811QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSalvage_Parts_Cars?hash=item180328876763&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
  18. Since you have two, do what my dad did for his; color photo copy them onto label paper then shellac or clear coat them. That will buy you some time to get originals if you want originals.
  19. !Muey amable, gracias! Son los mismos que esten en el segundo posto arriba; en e-bay.
  20. I have a set of 4 wheels with chrome hubcaps. The wheels are solid with 3 mounting points for the hubcaps. They are the ones you would see on the OEM dealer brochure One of mine is bent beyond repair and I would like a spare. I would even buy an extra; I'll take 1, 2, or 3 whatever is available. Leads for possible sellers are welcome. Located in Los Angeles Thanks!
