  1. Hi,

you are absolutely right, look at the pic of my car, this is 8x13 ET1 (tyres Yokohama A048 205/60) , you see there is much space, sometimes I have 8x13 ET-12 at the rear.

You´re also right, Herberts car had Compomotive ML1380 with ET -12. And yes, the new owner is BMW, because it was an original BMW Works Rallycar.

  2. Hi @ all,

Norberts car had a 2000cm (M10) 2valve engine, with electronic fuel injection ~230PS.

Car was totally destroyed in Oberhallau (CH) 2010. (but I think it´s not the end, I know he gets a new body)

Note, if you watch german DMSB Group H BergCup Videos, the red Numbers are the 2Valve class (1150, 1300, 1600, 2000 and more than 2000ccm), the black numbers 4Valve...

    cheers

  3. Hi,

only a car-manufacturer was able to homologate cars and parts. But this means not, that the parts have to be built by the car manufacturer.

By the way, BMW have done racing (with the 02) in the seventies, not circuit racing but rally! Think about the homologation of the M12 engine! The 2002 in season ´74 driven by Achim Warmbold and Jean Todt! Then the early years 70/71 Tony Fall/Mike Wood (BMW Works Car, Winner 2000ccm TouringCar Class TourAuto71) and Rauno Aaltonen/Paul Easter (the second works car) for example. So, you can´t say that BMW hadn´t done racing with 02 since ´69 ;-)

    Cheers

PS: many parts are not produced by Alpina or BMW! For example the Alpina rims. The rims were manufactured by Ronal not by Alpina. It is a long list, short steering: ZF, CR 5Speed: Getrag/ZF(S5-18), Frontstruts neg camber: Bilstein/Fichtel&Sachs, AluCalipers: ATE.......

  4. Hi folks,

Just watned to pick some nrains out there. I know the correct ending code for short ratio steering box is '177". Were there any that ended in "155"?

    If anyone knows please post!!

    Thanks

    Hi, both is correct.

For example, see pics. Ratio at all 3 boxes is the same. I have tested!

    Cheers

  5. ....hmm yes, it could be difficult without german. Get in touch with them by mail, I think there is someone who is able to speak english. But I have researched on their website, there is a Wiechers dealer listed in the US.

    Firma: Auto-Mark Inc.

    Straße: P. O. Box 22

    PLZ: 48640 Ort: Midland, Michigan

    Land: USA

    Email: auto-mark@charter.net

    Telefon: 001 989 859 2520

    Maybe it helps.

  6. Hi,

no close ratio, because the switch for the reverse gear is on the upper side of the gearbox, so thats 0,87 ratio in 5th gear. In german called "Schongetriebe". It is a Getrag 245 E21 gearbox, with first gear left in front. The perspective of the photo is not good, so I can´t say if this is a 4 or 6cylinder gearbox.
