Hi, the Schnitzer car is Group5. The car have the typical doorframe for plexiglass and so the doors are fiberglass. Both was not allowed in group2 post 71....and the car cannot be a pre 71 car, so the only way is "late" group5 (early group5 is -69)

what kind of info do you need? about valvecovers? Or about HEIDEGGER?
Maybe this will help ;-)

....yes a great source, probably the best source ever, you can select years, photographers, events and so on....I started my research last year and I saw every picture of every year and race, also the motorcycles. There are 160000 pictures! in the archive.

Strietzel, by his grandmother who thought he looked like a Christmas fruitcake (Stollen?) Also known as the "Regenmeister" for his abilities to race in the rain. I saw him lead the USGP for several laps in the rain in the Alfa Romeo in 1977. He was the class of the field. What made it more amazing was the fact that he did it with no clutch. If I remember correctly, that was the reason he spun in the toe of the boot & retired. So.... On with some more Stuck trivia: Most of you probably know where this is, but WHO was his co driver & what was the race?
Jepp, but a Striezel is more a kind of "Hefezopf" but that doesn´t matter.
And here is the exlusive pic of the Baby Striezel
...and here as a young man in his first race at the 300km Nürburgring in the Koepchen BMW 1969
Cheers
W.
PS: Watkins Glen 77, Harald Grohs was planned as Co-Driver, but he did not drive the car because he was testing with BMW. The reason why Benny Parsons was the Co, he had Sponsors with enough money for the event.

Hi guys, total OT but I have the next Stuck riddle. What is his nickname and what does it mean? And who gives him the name?

Hi, no not really, look a bit closer. The photo was taken in 1971. There is a carburetor on it, not an ITB. It is interesting, it seems like a kind of mixture of well known early and later logos.

a bit OT, sorry.
@ Markmac: I asked a friend in Italy, so Ricciardo Ricci lived his last 15years in Brasil. Died in 2007 in the Age of 78. Now he (or better his urn) is back in Pontedera/Italy. He was an participant of the 24h race in LeMans 1962 with Alfa Romeo. My friend took also a nice photo of your car. But we do not know where and when. Maybe we will get more infos in the next days/weeks.

Yes that's what I mean, I see from your picture of the later Alpina manifold that it had a fitting point for it, that would be the type of manifold I would need. I understand that without it the car would be difficult to start, my relatives A4s was a terrible starter, he had the early 2 piece manifold.
Hi, if you have the two piece manifold, you need the early Alpina Airbox, because the cold start injector is mounted in the airbox. But in reality, no chance to find one.
Best regards

Why not using a straight inlet manifold? if you use a kind of Alpina A4 inlet manifold (not angled and shorter than the TI inlet) you should have enough room with ITBs and brakebooster. Maybe an option, you have to measure it. My Heidegger Racecar for example, had the Alpina guillotine injection with non TI brakebooster. There was not much space between the extra long trumpets and booster but it worked. Best Regards W.
