  1. eye candy, I like it! Now I just need to find the $800...
  2. You pick a horizontal surface on the nose under the hood and drill a hole. So after my Stable bars clear the grilles they bend up towards the sky. They are fully threaded so you just bend and cut to size. They come with all the hardware you need. I take no credit for the idea for them, it was Blunt that showed me the way, he knows his way around huge lights. Kris, Thanks for the info, I'm not sure I have enough holes drilled in my car. Attached you should see a pic of a mod by the PO that has left me completely confused.
  3. Greyhound was about $130, but I would much rather ship UPS anyway. Good call, I'll check. Thanks Esty.
  4. From the BBC show Benny Hill: New German bra's called "schtoppem from floppen". John - those lights are huge for that tiny bumper. As above, you need some additional support/stabilization. lol, you got that right! They are big because I like lights! Installed the HID kit into some new Hella headlights the other day, but I wasn't getting a solid 12V at the ballast. I find that they won't work out so well without further mod. I also committed to a set of the led taillights recently posted here. I'll have to show you the car in a couple weeks. I'm almost done the interior as well. Tony, I got a set of those brackets from Pierre. The lights were too close to the grille.
  5. What has been your experience with shipping seats through Greyhound? How well should they be packaged? Thanks John
  6. Thanks, I ordered stuff from them before and they were great. They don't do Cibie, but I emailed Daniel Stern Lighting.
  7. Kris, I thought about getting the stabilizer bars as well. How do they mount inside the grille? I tried figuring out looking at pics, but I'm just not sure how they mount. The stabilizer bars seem to have matching ends. Would I have to make a bracket or something??
  8. I'll go out and get a pic now, thanks Blunt! From pics I've seen online, its the collar that is missing. Can you get me a pair???? Pics otw.
  9. Installed some old Super Oscars the other day, but I think I'm missing a some sort of collar or piece that keeps them from moving forward/backward. Anyone mounted these and know what I might be missing? Thanks.
  10. I went through this recently. Something could very well be clogged like mine was. After cleaning the gas tank and replacing the fuel filter a couple times, the car ran great then just stopped. There was a filter inside the weber carb that I didn't know about. Took about an hour to clean and replace everything. Good PM to help narrow it down.
  11. Okay, I won't give up. I usually start my projects and give up about ten times and then when I'm ready to really quit, it gets it done with ease. Something about leaving and coming back to it that works for me. I should have pictures up soon.
  12. I gave a very poor description, sorry! The super oscars light up, but I put an HID kit into the Hella headlight and thats what won't work. I broke out the mutimeter to find the power and ground are done properly. I'm starting to think this was a stupid project for someone as stupid as me. I'm going to abandon the car and drink left over brews from Memorial Day. Maybe tomorrow I'll work on the suspension or interior stuff that I've started and then abandon that job as well in favor of beer. Tomorrow morning I'll post pics of my mess.
  13. Decided to mount some old super oscars and install one of those fancy hid kits for the headlights. The fascia is now in pieces and the headlights don't work! The wiring harness is supposed to be "plug n play." When I turn the lights on, i hear a click or almost a clunk noise, but no light! Could it be that the voltage is not stable enough or something along those lines? Any of you with experience installing one of these on an '02- PLEASE HELP!
  14. I'll take the one with the motor attached. When would you like me to take these off your hands? Anytime works for me.
  15. I would like the diff and washer bottle if they're not spoken for...
  16. I have a bunch of extra parts that need to go. Some of these were given to me by generous FAQ members, so I'll return the favor on parts that ended up not using. Hopefully someone can get good use out of 'em. Kidney Grille from a '73. Chrome outer with black slats. The chrome is slightly bent in places and the top mounting screw is cut to about half the normal length. I was unable to install it with the factory hardware, so I bought a new one. FREE Late Marine Blue door panels in fair condition. PO mounted these with drywall screws and they do have small speaker cut outs in the front lower corner. They are clean with minimal wear. FREE Steering Column with ignition assembly in very good condition. I do not have a key for this ignition, but can include a blank. $100 Driver and passenger side door handles in fair condition. I have multiples- some are better than others. $20 each Late grilles for left and right sides. I have three and one is still in plastic. $35 each 2 Weber 32/36 Carbs that worked fine when installed. I also have a rebuild kit. Carb w/rebuild kit $75 Carb w/o rebuild $50 All items can be picked up locally in Alexandria, VA or buyer pays shipping. Email me for pictures xlittlejohnx at yahoo
  17. I went the ebay route and my car turned out great. However, the pictures and description on ebay never showed me that it had black front seats while the rest of the interior was marine blue. The car had many oddities (including starting life in 12/72 as an automatic) that would have been nice to know about. I was so happy that none of that mattered, but to most it probably would. V@V or the forum is without a doubt the best place to pick up a nice driver at a fair price.
  18. Anyone know where I should look to find headlight buckets for a quad headlight conversion? Thanks!
  19. Yep, very nice guy. I tried to get some parts from him, but ended up getting them locally. Glad someone on here got some good stuff from him.
  20. Arden, I found 'em on the german ebay site. Can't wait to see them in person!
  21. It was at a Texaco across from the Lowes and Giant. I was driving down the parkway and by belle haven, but not around 5. The car sat on rt.1 for about an hour til my tow truck guy arrived.
