  1. I just wanted to check in and see how you guys ended up finishing. My team learned a valuable lesson... don't rush a busted radiator or you'll blow your engine, sounds pretty basic, but hard to remember when you get too competitive. I hope to see you guys in the next race... Driving While Awesome is hoping to find another 944 by then and have our E30 up and running. Great job on the cars though, they both looked great. Jared
  2. I am looking for the seals that go on the aluminum trim at the top of the doors. It is a rubber piece that slides into the trim and prevents water from running down the window into the door. I am not looking for the other piece with the felt, that is the part I have been sent when I was looking for the rubber piece. Please see the pictures below. Sorry for the bad cell phone pictures. Thanks in advance - I am having a hell of a time finding this part #.
  3. I am doing the rear battery conversion and I am wondering where I should mount the distribution/junction box for the battery cable. The firewall is pretty crowded, and the tii airbox kills a lot of space. where have others seen it mounted on a tii? I would think about going without the distribution block, but I don't want the cables flopping around. thanks in advance, any pictures would be great too. Jared
  4. Rolling the fenders is pretty basic, just take a baseball bat or pipe and wedge it between the tire and the fender. Then you just use the leverage to roll the lip up. There is a good chance the paint will chip when you do this, due to the flexing. My fenders are rolled, and I also took a grinder to the inside lip to cut that back a little. If you do this, make sure to sand smooth. You can't tell unless you stick your head in the wheel well.
  5. Thanks for all the good info- I have not done much with leather before, so I was kind of clueless as to what to do. The seats are in pretty good condition, no tears, but are just kind of hard and I want to prevent any cracking or tearing in the future.
  6. I was going to use a little baby oil to recondition the 6 series rear seats I am putting in. I have heard from some that this is a good way to condition and soften the leather. Any downside? Any other reccomendations? Thanks
  7. I know it isn't the best thing to do, but if you are on a budget you can add trans x. I have had friends that it prolonged a bad tranny for months or longer.
  8. This will actually be my first race, I just joined my friends team with the edition of the E30. I am stoked a 2002 will be back in this one... If anyone has any performance parts for a 325e, we would gladly appreciate and would throw up stickers for your company or the site.
  9. You will see my tii in the parking lot, but my friends and I will have an E30 and a Porsche 944 out there. Love the theme- we were actually thinking about doing that on the E30, but probably not anymore. Jared Driving While Awesome/Team Santa Cruz
  10. yes, comparable cars from classifieds, ebay bidding, hemmings just had an article with market value, blue book etc. I would just try to overwhelm them with evidence showing the car is worth a lot. also, it would be great to avoid the salvage title. So you would have to show the car is worth more than than the repair would be. It already sounds like you might have a lot, but borrow more reciepts for engine upgrades, transmission etc. I know it is a little shady, but I have no problem sticking it to an insurance company to save an 02.
  11. Oh man, glad to see everyone was okay, but what a bummer... use expensive market updates for your insurance co.
  12. I think those Rota's are probably the closest to the wheels I have on my car, if not the same exact. the deeper dish, looks great and gets a lot of compliments. The car is slightly lowered, has rolled fenders, and hardly rubs- but I am not positive of the offset.
  13. I tried searching through roadfly and coudn't find your post. If you can find it, that would be great. If you can't find it, no worries, I will just try to make my own plate.

  15. That is great! Those will look really nice. I think those would look really good with the 6-series rear seats i am going to put in. what kind of rails did you bolt them on to? stock 2002? any other mods needed at all? Thanks Jared

  17. Down in Santa Cruz we are experiancing the same thing. Trees down, flooding, and high winds... Looks like the painting/body work is going to be delayed for a while now. I need a garage in times like this.

  19. I am about to install a freshly painted door myself. No problem on it being painted at all. Just be careful when mounting, I would suggest wrapping the bottom in a towel or blanket to avoid dinging it or scratching it.
  20. I am looking for a fairly inexpensive roll cage for an upcoming race. Does anyone have one or know of a local source? Thanks- sorry for the off topic Jared jaredbasye@gmail.com
  21. I am looking to something kind of like this. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/car/506662208.html Has anyone done it? What extent is the work and parts needed? Thanks in advance
  22. i am going strictly off the cool factor... my friend is car knowledgeable, but he is all about the high end- expensive cars. You are right though, if he doesn't see it. I should just give up
