  1. Not that wheel...thats my backup if these wont work. Its this wheet. BBS RG-F in a Jetta fitment Pic shows a 5 lug wheel, but its listed in a 4-100 bolt pattern. Shows its available in a 15 or 16 inch wheel.....
  2. Sounds like a perfect fit to me...but they are expensive wheels so I wanna make ABSOLUTELY sure. 15x7 Offset: 33mm Backspacing: 5.41" Bolt Pattern: 4-100 Rec. Tire Size: 195/50-15 Weight: 10.8lbs Dont those sound like a perfect fit? I plan to have an aggressively low car with at least a 1.5" drop all around with no rubbing and no fender rolling if possible.
  3. The Historic Sports Car races at Laguna Seca, and Concourse at Pebble Beach.
  4. Is your crankcase spitting out oil onto your engine? Its happening to me as well....my crankcase vent is being sent to a filter in the engine bay....then I think its spilling onto a hot engine block and I smell burnt oil....which is thick. Maybe this is whats happening to you as well....The solution is to rout the pcv tube under the car so it wont hit a hot engine when it comes out....
  5. 2002ad lists the headlight relays on their website for 10 bucks....do a google search for 2002 high beam relays.....
  6. I too need some relays.....Try Mesa Performance in Costa Mesa, Ca. They stock LOTS of old BMW parts...I am going to try them tomorrow as I need a High Beam relay.....mine is old and cruddy looking and working intermittently.
  7. Thats the next step...check the wires at the switch and the switch itself.....Oh and The high beams issue was the relay....took care of that one...so now they work just fine, will need to replace the relay though. So on to the flickering dash lights and bouncing needles, and I verified its not engine speed its vehicle speed.....
  8. Altenator and battery are brand new.....Seems to be related to car speed, not engine speed.
  9. Rebuild Motor with bigger pistons, cam DCOE's headers and exhaust. Ingnition System 5spd Conversion 3.91 LSD Take care of all the electrical problems Lower springs and Bilstein Sport Shocks Sway bars F&R 15" BBS Shortened bumpers (Euro bumpers?) Repaint Replace all chrome trim Recaro Seats Steering Wheel New Carpet Nakamichi head unit
  10. Ouch so gaining 11 pounds a wheel? How was the performance effected? Thats alot of rotational mass added.....
  11. Well the high beams worked ONLY when the dash lights were on....once the flickering started the high beams stopped working....
  12. I have a 76. I have had it only a few weeks so I am still figuring out what needs repairing and replacing. PO never drove at night, so never saw an issue with the dash lights. I drove it 400 miles home when I bought it mostly at night and the outside lights all work fine, just the dash lights do not. Today, I left work later than normal and it was dark, so I started the car and turned up the dash dimmer and the dash lights were working. As soon as the car started moving, they began to slowly flicker and the flickering got faster as the car sped up until the dash lights went off. If I stopped the car and played with the dimmer, they came back on, and as soon as I started driving they flickered in sync with the speed of the car again until at about 15-20 mph they turned off.....Its good to see that all bulbs are working and operational, now just to find the gremlin....I was wondering or HOPING someone else had seen this issue in their 02 and solved it....
  13. OK...so I thought my 2002 dash lights were not working. I swapped my fuses and still it seemed I had no dash lights. Then this evening I happened to get in the car, start it and looked down and my high beams were on...Blue light on in the dash...normally they didnt work....hit the switch back and forth and they worked like a charm...then I turned the dash light dimmer and low and behold they worked! So I started driving, and then the dash lights began flickering....and then as I sped up the lights flickered faster until they went out....If I stopped the dash lights would work again. So what does this sound like? I will go in and reground the dash as it goes haywire when I hit the turn signals, beyond that is there anything? Has anyone seen this before?
  14. I am looking into some 15" rims, I wanna save some weight if possible, and it the very least keep the weight the same so anyone know the weights of the stock 13" alloys? I am looking at 15" BBS RA's and they weigh about 16 pounds each...
  15. If you are doing flares..you probably want something wider...like 9s or 10s....6 or 7s will not fill out the fenders if you add flares.I would wait until you do the flares, then do the wheels.
  16. Got some smoke on downshift and I will get it checked but I suspect valves and rings. If that's be case I am thnking I might as well do a complete rebuild. Oversize pistons, cam, headers, drop in the dcoe's, LSD and 5 speed. Then the mechanicals at perfect. So anyone have any PERSONAL experience with any shops in socal? I'd like to talk to a few and decide on a shop to get the ball rolling so I can get this going. Also what kind of turnaround time can I expect? Thx.
  17. Planning on buying 15" rims for my 76....it'll get the "Stage 2" drop which will lower it about 1.5"...I wanna know what some other 02s have on them. Pics would be amazing! I want something that wont rub and that will fit in the wheel wells. I was all set to get the Ireland Engineering BBS RX style wheels but it looks like that offset is too aggressive to fit without rubbing. Thanks!
  18. OK..so my 76 2002 heater system needs a little work. It has a vent stuck open apparently, fresh air come in no matter what. Air temp is warm no matter what setting. So what controls the fresh air from getting into the car? And what is used to control the temp of the air? Also what is needed to make the air HOT, not warm. The fan works well actually, blows pretty hard. Thanks!
  19. I am planning on lowering my 76 02 and I was reading about the spacer added to US models for height regulations. Is that on 76 cars as well? My car seems really tall so I was gonna go for the 1.5 inch drop at least but if that space is there maybe a 1 inch drop and remove the space will do the trick.
  20. If you still have the seats I am interested.....jrhone@mac.com....
  21. Going to be going with BBS style 15" rims and I wanna still retain some decent ride quality. I plan on lowering it as well as sway bars. So is there any downside to using 195/55/15 tires? Actually there seem to be more 195/55 choices on tire racks website. Anyone done it? Ideas? Thoughts? Thanks!
  22. I appreciate everyone's thoughtfulness in looking out for me...but smog is NOT an issue for me. i will leave it at that. Its already been registered to me, no smog check needed....and none will EVER be needed. lol.....
