  1. I do it upside down, slow, and oh so gentle.
  2. They're the exact same. I had no idea they were still on closeout, TireRack now shows them for $40. In any case, these are sold, Thanks!
  3. I have a set of ATE rotors for sale. I was asking for $60 for the set but will cut a deal for FAQ members, $50 for both. They are $40 a piece on TireRack. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/pts/1831474112.html
  4. I can vouch for Charles as an excellent seller. Thanks for the IE springs! Alex
  5. Just a heads up, Tire Rack is having a closeout on Ate Premium Slotted rotors for a measly price of $9. They still have them in stock as of this morning. I ended up buying 4 and paid $70 (shipping kicked my ass).
  6. Rear bellows or even an early rear bumper would make your car perfect! Beautiful car dude!
  7. Ever so slightly is still too soft. It's really hard to describe without an actual unit of measure. It doesn't quite feel right because you'd naturally want it to have no drag at all. But try it tight and see how you like it, then back off accordingly. I know I am being of no help at all! But try it.
  8. Yes, you want a lot of drag on your rear drums. I don't know the exact amount as I do it by feel, but if you can spin the rear wheel freely, it is way too loose.
  9. try to source out bavaria studs. They fit right in and are a bit longer.
  10. Very nicely written. Kudos to your Girl!
  11. As in 12:1 compression looks really cool in real life.
  12. Its funny, we actually have one of those engines sitting at the shop. The pistons are definitely insane.
  13. The grin factor is definitely increased with this mod!
  14. Hey Pierre, this is Alex from Jack's shop. We ran into a similar problem with a 5spd swapped 02. We found that the plastic bushing that connects the rod to the clutch pedal deteriorated. It didn't give us enough distance to disengage the clutch. Hopefully that helps. I need more inspiration to start my own M20 conversion!
  15. I drive my 74 everyday. At least 50 miles a day and an occasional drive down to San Diego. She never misses a beat but you mustn't be afraid to get your hands dirty and take care of her. It also doesn't hurt that I work at a shop that specializes in 02's!
  16. Got the carb put in from Jack so I will definitely be there. Can't wait to cut up that E30. -Alex
  17. I need a gas cap, locking or non. Located in Culver City. Thanks.
  18. I'll be glad to take that 300 cam off your hands. alexphomthavong@hotmail.com
  19. I haven't received an email. Can you text me?
  20. Hi all, I need a late model 8 prong hazard switch. Mine decided it didn't like staying pressed in so now I have a plastic knife holding it in place. I am located in Culver City and would prefer a local pick up. Thanks. Alex P (six one nine) 929 - seven six three nine
  21. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but don't knock it till you try it! drifting is one of the most enjoyable things you can do in an automobile. seeing the back end of the car kick out while you countersteer around the corner and clutch kicking to maintain the tire spin all while hearing your tires scream for mercy is something everyone should experience once in your life. well, once you get the skills to do so anyways.
  22. i'm running an electric fan with a manual switch and i was wondering if i needed to run a relay also. at most i was going to put an inline fuse, but is a relay necessary? thanks.
  23. a few questions. myt front end is pretty thrashed. the PO said that someone backed into him causing the damage. so far i KNOW i need "new" grills and a new kidney. possibly a new nose if it can't be brought back far enough. my question is, will the grills and kidney from the later 02's fit my '68? i've seen a lot of 74-76's for sale but have yet to see an early one. help guys! my 02 looks like it got into a fight and lost!
  24. does anyone have any experience buying from these guys? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/32-36-DGV-5A-Weber-Carb-Carburetor-New_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33551QQitemZ8072808156QQrdZ1 if so, what parts come with it? what else was needed to make it function properly? im in the market for a "new" carb and this seems like a decent deal. -alex
