How much mac?

apologies to those who wrote that I was unable to reply to, will inventory what I have and just bite the bullet and start breaking this car down and list everything here. Sad to see it go, it is really very solid with a perfect nose, excellent, near-perfect dash, rear inner wheel wells look spotless, outer rockers should probably be replaced but could be just patched I think with rear pieces, and NO SUNROOF!
-
NLA because I have them all LOL .
Bogart!

Located near Boulder CO, no time to assemble the car, will likely use some stuff on my 71 touring and 72Tii, but feel free to e-mail or pm with your needs/wants/offers/witticisms and I'll see what I can do to help with YOUR project

Do you know where to locate the rest of the items to complete the setup?
By setup I mean the induction system, not the whole engine!
M10 is the base for this engine, so you can take performance parts for this engine! i think slide throttle and pump are the rarest parts... bigger valves, camshaft, etc. will be no problem. i sell because i have switched to schnitzer 16vIf you switched where are the rest of the slide throttle body parts? Forget about the engine, to use what you are selling still would need stacks, injectors, the slider inside the throttle body, drive system for k-fisher pump....do all of THOSE parts need to be fabricated or do you know if they are available somewhere?

Very early vin
From this foto can see the strut bearings WAY tired (appearance should be concentric), forget about the impact on the steering geometry, literal failure may (or may not) be imminent. Be a damn shame if that strut poked its way through the hood. Meanwhile, I'd guess the whole front suspension is equally tired (and price-ey to rebuild)
-
WHY do the earlier cars always wind up with that stick-on trim (where the lower trim is on newer cars) ? I guess it wouldn't bug so much, if they didn't (usually) POP-RIVET the ends of each piece. Little shit like this, plus the 12v change and other stuff, make me think this is a rather steep asking price. But then, that could be just me...yes? or no?
-
PFFT!
who cares? Does BMW NA give a shit about us?
Do you LIKE the huge price increases
we've seen for parts for our 02's?
Does it make sense to hafta spend in 4-figures just for belt-trim??
I swear you'd think every damn "enthusiast" now a days has his damn head up his ass!
If you OWN a mid-sized modern BMW, AND you think its a good car, thats one thing...but loading the dam popularity pool on autoweek just because you get a stiffy when you hear the letters Bee Em Double-you ... is as stupid as those polls are to begin with!

They've been after me to bring the penguin out for a few years now, guess I better get movin before their runs gets all snootie -wink-

If you had 1mm milled from your head ,say original height was 129mm after milling it was 128mm, how much would your valve timing be altered by??????????
Sorry could not resist
I shaved my head for the spring/summer. does that mean my timing is off now more than ever? Old Fat Man in Holland/Limburg
not much, but you're still old and fat, yes? (me too, by-the-way)

Market for these has peaked. The rat projects always stay stashed "too long." This happens with every "special" car that captures the fleeting hobby (read: speculator) market. It happened with 55-57 Chevys and T-Birds, 64-66 Mustangs, most "muscle cars" in general.
The reason so many ratty cars are coming out of the woodwork now is the market perception said they had value, the reason so many of them are trashed is these were poorly-engineered cars that didn't appeal to a wider audience, and those who had them drove 'em hard and often bashed the shit out of them and they invarialy got put away wet.
If you want a worn-out has-been with no direction in it's life, find a middle-aged divorcee...just remember she'll need to be told she's "hot" ... just like turbo owners need to be told these unbalanced wierdo vehicles are "special."

You guys crack me up, break cars all the time and demand 5-600 bucks for trailing arms that are steam-cleaned and rattle-can painted
For the record, he paid half that, You and I have never done business, but I have never cleaned and painted a part to get more money. Sold as is so you know what you got..
Maybe take your touring, and your 7 series-whatever, and go back to bimmer forums where uninvited anonymous spoiled brat schmack talk is a way of life. I'm a workin' man just being savvy to afford my dream. Don't disrespect that. My practices are fair.
trash,
1) didn't mean for you to personalize the term "trashtalk" ... thats a term made popular by Charles Barkley back when he was skinney and you were much much much younger. I think you did, even though the quote was edited out. Your little hissie-bitch noise sounds a lil like "brat schmack talk" to me, b.t.w. (just sayin')
You guys crack me up, break cars all the time and demand 5-600 bucks for trailing arms that are steam-cleaned and rattle-can painted, and then for breakfast like to trash talk sales you're not interested in? How much of this thread (really) was worth our time today? Not even my post is worth your time ;-)2) um, DP are my initials, how is that anonymous where "eurotrash" isn't?
3) sorry my kidding around put you on the offensive, s'pecially since
Not even my post is worth your time ;-)aus freund am fahren, dickweed :-D

How about a trade for a complete set of 2002 seat belts (front+rear)? Easily worth over $500 especially since rears are NLA.

What Ruben said, the big 6 mounts are (IMO-2) the best, they do not transmit vibration like the other options mentioned (poly, rigid mount, etc) and being much larger are MORE efficient at damping than the stock mounts and they are MUCH more durable. If you go with the stock rubber 6-cylinder motor mounts they will be the last motor mounts you have to buy for your '02!
While I'm at it, the 6-cylinder green trans mount is the best for our cars too, for all the reasons stated above
-
Here's what I have, anyone know where I can find the remaining bits I need? Anyone KNOW what the remaining bits are that I need, and maybe even a copy of the mounting instructions? THIS would be an esoteric faq!
Oh, if YOU have what I need, maybe you can provide the remaining bits and the key to the jigsaw puzzle (instructions)?
Thanks in advance for any replies, on or off-list!

about a dozen years ago I parked up at the top of Grizzly Peak for work, when I came out to my ratty old 1600 (still have it) Curt had left a note on it to "just say hi"...this started an acquaintance of correspondence spanning a good bit of the next decade. Keep the shiny side up, Curt, and Rest In Peace
