  1. Early factory werks cars ran 7x13F and 10x13R. At back probably a 4" inner barrel and a 6" outer barrel. So few of the real deal early cars exist any more (AlpinA or other) - I haven't ever seen an image of inside to see what they may have done (inside the rear wheel wells). My car had alot of work done there in order to stay in the rules and fit a 13x15 wheel back there. I have gone through hell and some $$$ to sort out the tire and wheel situation on my car - interesting enough to warrant a story in the near future. What a saga.

Early pig cheeks had rounded wheel wells, as the cars "progressed' the Alpina fenders seem to have gotten more schnitzer-esque (flat or square or angular rather than pig-cheekie smooth and rounded) and by the time they were down to only campaigning one or two cars ('74-'75?), the wheel well was in various ways angle-cut rather than round.

i.m.o. anyone building a car that is not based on the foto from its original wagenpass should just go with the fenders Ireland has, and (correct me if this is wrong) they can make them in the earlier 2-3" bubble as well as the later 6". If you're stateside forget getting from overseas unless you are working from the original fotos of your car on its wagen pass. Shipping makes that not cost effective...my '02 cent's worth

  2. Did you own it back when it was on BaT ?

Yes, since that time (2007) I have traced ownership back to the early 80's

when it was owned by a very successful local (Denver) SCCA racer.

I also have the stamping numbers from the original cage,

and extensive photographs as well as letters and other documentation

which are helping to further discover its history before it came to Colorado. Please note that as a "feelie"

I am not representing nor offering to sell the car as it was described by BaT in 2007.

I would welcome any assistance in further tracing its lineage, and would

very much appreciate direct contact in that regard at losgatos_dale at yahoo dot com.

    Thanks and best regards!

  3. Thinking of parting ways with my IMSA/RS Tii, currently in GT-3-ish configuration. BMW Motorsport F2 single cam slide throttle tii engine by Werks Racing in Boulder. The car is a genuine historic racer, with documented ownership since the very early 80's. and has been redone with all original factory metal to original IMSA configuration. Ready to go to a new owner, it will need minor recommissioning after several years of indoor storage. Restoration was done about 12 years ago the car was media blasted, primed and painted by Hill Racing Restorations in the original BMW chamonix white color with 70's-era IMSA/RS livery. The original roll cage was extensively updated to current safety standards and with the original SCCA stampings saved. The engine has no race time on it. Check out the velocity stacks!! ATL fuel cell was rebuilt and can be set up for quick fill directly through the deck lid as original. A current specification Corbeau racing seat has been installed in place of the original fiberglass bucket (included). The car is fitted with lexan side windows and a new OE BMW windshield. Super rare BMW Motorsport fiberglass doors, revolution wheels have been fitted in place of the original steel wheels. Vintage and BMW club racing eligible worldwide.

  4. I was excited to see this on eBay at first and then learned it's not even the original color (Bill's in Portland is an actual Inka car and I've seen one other one in the past) and then there are the other things people mentioned... it sounds like one to avoid indeed.

Still if I ever have my other one painted, I might go for Inka : ) I love safety colors.

    yah, golf is good...

  5. Needed for the rear cargo area:

    * the black cover that goes over the rear latch mechanism,

    * the similar black covers that go over the taillights

    * the black panel that goes between these on my car is just a piece of black fiberboard, its ok but would like the actual panel that has the chrome strip

    * the piece of trim that goes on the inside lower edge of the gate?

*one (or two) of the hydraulic lifts for the tailgate

** need the "2000" logo that goes on the rear deck, I have one but its from a neuklasse and the pins are wrong

** would like to find the foldup FRONT seat mechanism(s) just in case I ever try to cram 8' 2x4's in there

***pretty much what have you if it is touring specific I'd like to know whatcha got, I plan to keep this one "for a while" ;-)

esPECially needed: an "Touring guru" with knowledge of some of the ins and outs, parts source/hoarders, etc

    thanks all....

  6. Don't comment, if you don't want to be FULLY informed. You aren't being harassed. Not by a long shot. It was one email, twice, as a CC. So relax. Open your eyes and see the big picture.

you screwed up, big time. so did your brother. Alienating people when you want to sell stuff here is just stupid. Eurotrash is too classy a name for you, clown. Like I said, give it a rest and leave me alone I have NOthing to do with your stupid sour deal, and you are not entitled to harrass ANYone just because they say they are tired of hearing you bitch, bitch.

  7. Great year, even greater color, if it isn't a total rust bucket probably a $25k car if restored (properly). If the condition is bad then well you know it probably will cost more than the car is worth. Still, great color on that car one of my ATF's.

x2 but (frankly) I won't be going for it,

even though my sister lives in Hillsboro and logistics would be easy

  8. Jason/Bryce,

Why are you now copying your e-mail correspondence with this guy to me? I do not know either one of you, nor do I know the person you appear to be fighting with.

I will have to add your e-mails to my spam filter. You already know that your disputes with someone I do not know are none of my business, you already know I have no interest in hearing about them again and again, and so you decided to start copying me in your e-mail correspondences with that guy at my personal e-mail address?!? w.t.f. are you what, twelve years-old?

I consider your decision to copy me on your e-mail transactions to be not only ill-advised but UNWELCOME to the extent that I have copied your e-mails to your ISP provider to express concern that your unwelcome e-mail is HARASSMENT and requested their assistance in discouraging you from any further contact with me.
