  1. Hi Esty

x2 for touring "set"...do you think you can make the passenger compartment area from one of the "moulded" (one-piece) carpets from a later-model touring? I am told the only real difference btw the regular and touring carpets in the front is complete coverage under the front seats and the extended carpet for the back seat, perhaps (hopefully!) that 1-piece carpet can provide the measurements for our tourings...I have one of those fronts and all the carpeted bits for the cargo area, including the wheel humps. You are quite welcome to use them as templates.37186_168587299835216_156647081029238_464304_1218710_n.jpg

  2. I'll take it! Can you e-mail me at losgatos_dale at yahoo dot com please, or "use the button"

got your e-mails, left voice mail and replied to e-mails, hope to hear back from you!

Hi Joey, got your e-mail from yesterday and just saw your posts to the faq, I haven't been able to get you on the phone I keep getting a message saying I've reached the voicemail system and it asks me to enter your phone number then says that voicemailbox is invalid??? If you can call my cell, I'll have it with me and pick up cause I'll know its your 650 area code

  3. FYI- After e-mailing, I also told him I'd take it on Friday, but if he'd rather sell it to someone locally to save the hassle of packing it up, I wouldn't be mad. I told him to take his time in packing it up as I was no hurry, and he said not to paypal till its ready to ship. Haven't heard from him since Friday, but it's a holiday weekend, and I did tell him to take his time...

So you're claiming it on here, despite this forums use of "dibs calling"? I'd be picking it up in CA....

--shrug-- I think it is obvious the seller will decide what he wants to do...

  5. okay... digging thru archives - flushing my cooling system. Unplugged the radiator, and let it drain..unplugged from the block - nothing came out. plugged the bottom of the rad again, and ran a hose thru the rad again with the engine block open - nothing. Checked that the heater was on "Hot" - it was. Car not running at this point. Is that right, or is something wrong? Thanks, Matt

There are several important, safety aspects to servicing your cooling system as follows :

    1) the drain screw in the radiator (always on 6-cylinder BMWs, sometimes found on 02's),the drain plug in the block, and the bleeder screw in the thermostat housing (again on 6-cylinders) all can tend to clog during normal use (the drain in the radiator is least likely of the three.)

    2) What this means is that prior to bringing coolant up to operating temperature you should remove the screw/plug and probe the orifice with an appropriate-sized rigid wire. Coat hanger wire is good size for the plug in the side of the block, small dia bailing wire is good for the t-stat bleeder.

***DO NOT DO THIS WITH A HOT ENGINE...

***also...KEEP YOUR FACE AWAY FROM THE BLOCK IF YOU ARE DOING THE BLOCK DRAIN PLUG...coolant and debris WILL come rushing outta the hole when you break through to the water journals...ick on you if your face is there...

    3) Replace the respective plugs/screws and proceed with your coolant service as you had planned before you started reading this...
