did your source still have all his fingers?

@Jim: Yeah, I saw that aluminum-clad cougar; I think we can talk Martin into squeezing himself into it as a second option, just in case she happens to be tied up (!) that day.
@Dave: OK then. We will pick up all the parts that come off your car along the way... What are you driving?
I have Davids 2000, he says nothing will fall off....
Are you going to Mequon tonight?
-
I plan to leave super early thursday, not sure if Im stopping anywhere overnight.

Tools are a wonderful thing!
Will you be at the Vintage this weekend?

I did this last year, great turnout, we had a caravan with a 2000cs, tii touring, 02 tii, a nice '70 02 and a 330, it was a grand entrance, would be great to have 10-15 cars. Chime in if you went to meet up.

Brian,
I am in St. Louis also and need some work done. I am considering metric mechanics or The Werk Shop. Just wondering if you have ever use MM?
Good to know there are other folks near as I am about 50 mins north of Stl in Jerseyville, IL
Morgan
and I spent some time at Greenville College!
Where are you now in relation to St Louis?
I'm as far northeast as you can get and still be in Il.

find the facebook page"chicago area vintage bmws" and join up

Sawzall!! Geez Dave, I was thinking some box wrenches and my impact will do the trick. :-)
You're a big guy, I figured you could lay under the car and hold the thing up until it is unbolted and then you could just lower it down onto your chest and roll out from under the car. Easy Peasy!
Maybe we could convince Martin to get his hands dirty on another NK??
Beers are on me!
Martin, dirty?

I'm up for a get together...
I'll bring the sawzall!
How about my garage to pull the rear subframe out of my 1800Ti. :-)

I don't know of any sub groups for the vintage guys, but we do find things to do together, I would like to see a facebook page or something we could post on and send notification for gatherings. May 24 is a German car night near Milwaukee that a bunch of us caravaned to last year, I plan on doing it again. I keep watching the FAQ for info, it's the best we have for now.
I hope to see you at one of the GTGs.

Steve, didn't they get you a sponsor suite? The hotels are booked or the deals expired, we got a cheap rate, from the pics it doesn't look like a fleabag.
-
not sure about caravaning from Illinois yet, but I'll be looking for a place in Ohio or W V for thursday night, suggestions?

I saw this collection a couple years ago, mostly 80s and 90s parts, lots of nla and huge dollars at bmw list, but probably would take years to sell of at money making prices. The spread sheet he created with the part # and last price took $5k worth of effort!
Hi, Doug!

do it but don't talk about it!

full circle? My MINI from BMW shares the engine block with the Neon!

Chicago is a little light on decent 02s, but they do pop up if you keep looking. The car you looked at seems overpriced. Come out to the events we post, sometimes availalable cars show up. Here's a list of theme cruise nights at Brew City near Milwaukee, there is an all geman night and a BMW night, some of us caravan up for these, there's always cars for sale. good luck looking!

I'm planning to attend driving a tii, but i have an opportunity to drive a NK, just wondering who else might be there?
-
-
I'll be there, and I won't have to leave early this time!

when I was young, if you asked me if it's ok to eat potato salad that sat all afternoon on a sunny pionic table, I'd say yeah, I do it all the time. You never know what you can get away with until you don't get away with it...
