  1. I've been driving 02s for over 30 years, never had overdrive, I even had a 4:11/1 1600 for a while, I always thought the cars had a sweet spot at 80mph, all the harmonics seem to settle a bit.

    I drove my '74tii to ofest in Keystone from Chicago with other 02s and 3 M cars, we were typically at 85 mph where possible, you get used to the sound after an hour or two as long as you know the car was designed for it.

  2. MS III (latest version) should not need EDIS, however it will still work with EDIS or dist. But why do you want to use EDIS or dist if MS can control ignition/spark (e.g., using a trigger wheel) AND fuel delivery simultaneously? EDIS was needed in early MS versions, but no more.

    Is it a good idea to use the edis contrller as a cheap and readily available final stage?

  3. I just go back, we had a great time as we always do at these kind of gatherings, thanks to Chris Burd and all his helpers, the Michiana and Windy City CCA chapters, all the door prize donors (everybody got at least one) and the 02ers who drove from all over the midwest to be there. I can't wait til next years event!

  4. Dave;

    I've left the schedule loose as there seems to be folks coming at all points of the day or days. We will have a meet and greet starting around 8:00 or so thru 10:00, a track does and don'ts after that, a photo shoot right after the lunch break, a short drive for another photo shoot late in the afternoon, and dinner around 7:00. I wanted to avoid trying to do too much since folks are driving from good distances and make it more of a social event. Thanks for bringing stuff to give away, I've got a lot of stuff.

    Chris

  5. This is from Chris, I hope to have more info later, time to check in with caravan info, too.

    This will be a great event, it's been too long since the last one.

    Hello Everyone;

    we are a week away from the 2010 Midwest '02 Fest. If you are yet to send back an application you are still welcome to attend but please do not mail any applications after next Monday. Simply e-mail me to let me know you are coming and if you are staying for dinner. I did order extra shirts so there should not be any problem accommodating late comers and plan to order extra food for lunch Saturday as well as dinner Saturday. I do not have much planned for Sunday due to travel distances for some and some folks leaving late Saturday. I do have quite the selection of door prizes so it's very likely you will go home with something in addition to the reception packet goodies. There is unlimited space at the Tire Rack so bring whatever you want to sell or trade and plan to have an exciting autocross circuit. I plan to set it up Friday afternoon over beers......or not.

    Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you next weekend.

    Chris

    email Chris, the address is on the post in events, I'm pretty sure this is a "more the merrier" type event, or just come as my guest. the event form is on my post from yesterday, link is above, most details are found on it

    quote="ahlem"]Are non-participating spectators allowed?

    I may want to come watch for a bit on Saturday AM in my 535i. If I can and do, I promise to ooh and aah. Do I need to ask Chris Burd? The '02 is not roadworthy yet/still.

  7. Sounds like a partial short on the ground wire of the pump, the positive side of the pump is powered up with the key, and the ground is through the switch, the wiper module is attached to the ground signal as well, so it knows to run the wipers when you squirt. disconnect the wiper module first top see if it is causing the short, then check the pump ground wire

  8. "I've used it on metal, it's more waterproof than polyester bondo, and doesn't crack if applied thick, I'm not sure about the adhesion to fiberglass as a structural repair. To me, glass cloth and resin is as easy to use as a catalyzed filler.
