What's a good way of getting races out?

I finally got the rotors pulled off the hubs on my 73. Now I'm faced with getting the bearing races out. What's a good way of getting them out and putting the new ones in? Is there a trick to it? I don't want to damage the hub.

Thanks.

two ways to respond :

1.)

long brass punch and hammer out - or --

grind an angle to the end of a long

steel tapered punch to catch the edge of each race and tap out

alternating taps around the race - not focusing on

just one spot.

Purchase a special threaded rod with race sized

installation disks to pull the races neatly back into

the hubd without damaging the race or hub.

Assembly of the roller bearings is not expained

long distance - rather it requires hands on tudoring

with an experienced technician

2.) I want to remove a bad kidney. I heard on

the Medical Channel that it's not that hard of a job.

Can someone just walk me through some of the steps.

I'm sure with a hand mirror and some thread I can do most if it myself

My return e-mail to you bounced back to me.

Here it is:

Rick.

My good son bought the Bearing Race and Seal kit for me from one of the tool trucks but it is one of the cheap ones. Snap-On trucks usually carry their brand and a cheaper line called Blue Point and sometimes even a cheaper one than that. So run down a Snap-On, MATCO or Cornwell truck or go on-line and look around.

They are not metric or fractional.

This is the set he bought me from the MATCO truck
