ok dumb question... how do I remove and replace wiper arms?

Get a small flat head screwdriver and pull up on the base of the arm, if you look under you can see a small metal tab the holds the arm on. use the screwdriver to lever the tab out and the arm should pop off. I just replaced mine and they took a fair amount of pulling to come of. Good luck

They have a little clip tho pull from right under the arm. Then, straight off! They do stick, especially if left on for years and years.

I have padded the a sheet metal around the arm then used the claw of a claw hammer to get leverage in the right direction.
