Ever have this issue with Ireland brake lines?

Hey there,

When installing my steel brake lines on the rear hard lines in 76 I noticed the threads on the brake line were not long enough to fit over the nozzle on the hard line?

Did I get the wrong part or am I making another bone head mistake?

The latter I assume.

Thanks in advance!

Are you describing the female end of the Ireland SS line not sitting flush with the wrench flats on the male end of the hard line... ie. there are threads still showing?

That's fine, the compression of the fitting takes place inside the female part by the male part pressing on the bubble flare at the end of the hard line. If the two sections threaded to the point of being flush, there wouldn't be enough compression to seal the fitting.
