click on the banner ads! =)

weve got a dood in the chat room complaining about the ads, which brought up the idea of using them for our benefit (more than them just passively sitting there). Click and help steve pay the MONTHLY server bills he gets. Im not sure where we're at with all that right now, but it can't hurt!

Click em, the FAQ wins! :)

shouldent the adds themselves pay for it. Thats how the Free magazines do it. All the Adds pay for the print of the magazine.

Yeah, that is the idea. But in the electronic world you get paid more for clicks than for just "impressions," meaning passive eye-ball time. The advertisers are paying more for clicks because it means the ad has "worked," and they know this because you are suddenly on their site looking at their stuff. With the ad just being on the page, they don't know if you are looking at their ad, or something else on the page, hence they pay less.

It takes two seconds to click an ad and then just backspace back to the FAQ. Support yer FAQ, click an ad today! :)
