530i Master Brake Cylinder

I'm not sure which, exactly, is the 530i....I put an e12 master cylinder in my 74 and it fit perfectly. I know some of the 5 series are e12s. The only difference is the grommets on top where the reservoir lines go in. The e12 master has HUGE holes and the elbows from the 2002 don't fit. You gotta get the grommets with the little holes (I think I got mine from the local dealer)

The E12 (5-series from 1975 till 1981) has 4-wheel disk brakes.

The early E12s calipers are in fact identical to the tii calipers, and the later ones are vented. (The same caliper is used with a spacer betwen the two halves to make room for the wider rotor.)

The master cylinder is the same on the early and late cars.

The rears on an E12 are disks too. How does that compare to the drums of the 2002? I do not know. Any input here would help. You may deal with the issue with a proportioning valve.

It may not be as easy as a straight bolt-on.

Well, I did a LOT of research and it is supposed to be straight bolt-on. I'll let you know if I lock the rears or blow them out after my car hits the road. I have the upgraded front vented rotors with volvo calipers and 320i drums (250mm).
