Keyless entry questions

I've searched the keyless entry threads and have a question: Can you still unlock your doors with the key? It was unclear to me where the FAQers moved the battery to the trunk to avoid being locked out of the battery compartment that it was because the door handles and mechanical door locks had been removed or the keyless system renders them unusable.

Question 2: I know someone here did a keyless trunk opener too. Are there any pictures or details of that installation?

Just installed a keyless entry from A1 electronics out of Torrance Ca. Great system, lock (or unlock) one and they both lock (or unlock), by hand or by key. Start the car and there is a 10 second delay and they lock. The actuators were a little tricky but I searched the forum and got help installig them.

i picked up a cheap lock set off ebay...it was easy to install, came with 4 actuators and 2 remotes...so i have 2 spares....can't remember exactly but i think i only spent about $30.00

it allows you to unlock just the drivers door or both

thanks, Bill, that's the answer I was looking for, that you can still use the key and get in if the battery dies.

still looking for Q2, any keyless trunk guys and gals out there that can help?
