Tips for braking-in the rebuild motor??

I talked to the motor builder and He suggested on Easy Brake-in with 10-30 non synth for 0 to 500-800m. 3rd oil change with synth. He only suggested on Hard Brake-in for a track car. In my case, I am not building a track car just a daily driver.

Thanks for the scans of the owner manual with specific specs on the factory Brake-in. I did not see it in my Hayne or BMW CD that I have. This website have been great resource for my project. Thanks other poster for their input.

I will keep you guys posted on my progress.

Yup, the 'high ring- seating pressure' has worked for me on several motors,

too.

But he's very clear- get it WELL up to temperature first.

Then use large throttle openings, really just to seat the rings.
