Heres a link to a guy who turbo'ed his E30 318i. Same engine as an E21 except the fuel injection system is different. Its got some good information. Good luck!

I have a stock E21 motor, and I was thinking about Turbo charging it. Question is what turbo do I use and will the block be able to handle a turbo being added on.

you can put a compressor on any motor, if by being able to handle you mean not blow up, that depends on compression ratio, head gasket being used, quality of head bolts/studs, and other variables.

Any turbo will drastically reduce engine life.

You can find manifolds that will bolt right on with the t3/t4 flange. Im not sure if 666 fabrication sells them for your application but start looking there.

You need to select the compressor that suits your needs, based on turbine design, size, among other variables.

I wouldnt do a turbo kit without an intercooler since the advantages speak for themselves.

I would do the suspension before you do any engine work, the car is useless if you cant even control it in the first place.

do not use header wrap products. They destroy stainless pipe very quickly. The pipe seems to disintegrates from within. It happened on my Ducati and my dragbike. There is proper heat shield material that is much to use.
