When did the 320i go from vented to non-vented front rotors?

I know its says '77 for vented rotors in the write up. I've found a set of rotors that state "fits pre 8/77" vented and "post 9/77" vented has a different part number. Is it safe to assume the first rotors (pre 8/77) are the right ones? I'm inclined to buy them because of our muscular currency.

I have a 7/77 320i that has solid discs.No idea if it came like that from the factory or not.It also has 5 speed which i believe is non factory.The car is RHD and being in Australia probably Euro spec ???
