using e30 rear subframe...

i have a nice e30 rear subframe that i am going to use on my m20 swapped 02. its not as much fab work as one would think. anyone ever done this?

Here they are - as you can see racing on gravel does tend to grind things down a bit.

Thank you, it definitely does seem do-able now.

My biggest worry is getting the alignment all out of whack. How did you make sure it was all spot on before you drilled holes and welded in the re-inforcement plates?

Lots of measuring - From memory I used the front crossmember mounting points as datum points and measured back, then measured diagonals to get the crossbeam pickup points. Once you have those I bolted the cross beam & diff in to get the diff mounting point.

I was working on a completely stripped shell, tipped on it's side which made it easier.

Or in this case, about 5 times. The Walloth and Nesch catalogue includes a diagram with useful chassis measurements - good to know you're doing it to factory spec rather than what you can determine from a 30+ year-old specimin.

Here's a few more pictures that may be useful, You may not need as much wheel travel as I was after so may not have to get as aggressive with the cutting disk.
