My fellow NK friends

I haven't been on the forum for ages. Some of the hardcore early pre FAQ members might still know me and the NK scène who were on the UK forum too as Guid02.

some of you might know me from Facebook as DerAlteClassics.

And most of you might not know me at all.

Something about myself then.

My name is Guido de Oude (surname translates to Der Alte in German)

I'm from the Netherlands. Hope to reach 52 in June.

I've been driving classic cars since I had my driver's license. Since 2002 I started with the 02's and quickly became inundated with the virus. What started with one 22 years ago ended up with 17 cars early 2023.

I've toned it down a bit to 14 now. And planning to sell a lot more the coming years.

6 of those 14 are NK's

1963 Kashmir Gelb 1500(mk1)

1965 Chamonix 1600

1966 Bristol 2000ti

1967 Chamonix 2000ti

1971 Agave Grün 1800

And a 1972 Nevada 2000

I have 4 02's

1971 Condor Gelb Baur 2002 Convertible

1973 Henna Rot Baur 2002 Convertible

1973 Türkis 2000 Touring TII

1974 Fjord 2002 Automatic

 I also have a 1965 Guyana blue 700LS Coupe

a 1982 Opal Grün 635CSI and a 1987 Lachsilber 325 E30 Convertible.

For you who bothered to count that leaves 1 out and that's because it's not a BMW. I also have a 1964 Velázquez Green Simca 1500. (which was our wedding car, married to Shirley btw, who some of you guys know of course)

In those 20 plus years I also collected a lot of parts. To many to mention. And recently I'm starting to sell those too. A few FAQ members already got in touch for those hard to find NK parts.

I will now put some pictures up below so not to  bore you any further.

Planning to visit the forum more often, but also contact my via facebook DerAlteClassics for NK advice or whatever

If it helps you downsize your collection,, I will say you've went beyond what most would to get me an NOS NK door I needed and the packaging was very professionally done.  Also, the Tisa wheelset was shipped with the utmost care and concern.  If I had the money and the room, I'd definitely buy a car from you!20231025_163613.thumb.jpg.7b48ffb44161f83309672d19ba2f309b.jpg20231025_163444.thumb.jpg.7656b79c6794f5b43c212e0447f55b72.jpg

It may be a good idea to post in the main 2002 forum for greater exposure of you collection?

Beautiful collection, in 1970 I bought my first NK. It was a 1800 in Bristol.  And in 1978 I got a 2002. In 2021 I had my second O2 restored. In February 2023 I purchased an 1800 in Tampico. The picture below is me and my son. The young man that’s sitting on the front bumper is now 46 years old.IMG_4351.thumb.jpeg.97b03f5135ca2906050ebc83302384a2.jpegIMG_3534.thumb.jpeg.c2f76d50cd907d36ff8ab641ec760c32.jpegIMG_0954.thumb.jpeg.f3771b6d2855fc5e15c390b925db72a8.jpeg

I looked for you on Facebook but was unable to locate you. I’m in need of the windshield insert clips for the 1800. in my 15 month search I’ve been unable to locate them anywhere. Would you happen to have them or have a suggestion on where I might look?  I’ve been told that that weatherstripping for the windshield could be replaced with the O2 style rubber. And then I would be able to use the O2 size clips. Can you confirm that?IMG_4351.thumb.jpeg.97b03f5135ca2906050ebc83302384a2.jpeg

Okay sorry about that Greg.

Thought that it was easy to find me with just the name but I couldn't even find myself

And concerning the clips. I think they are around. I have to look for myself too mate.

The 02 strips do work. My Nevada 2000 actually has a 02 strip in the windshield

rubber

It just isn't as tight as the NK strip. Which hasn't been a problem for the last 15 years I have that car.

It sort of was a stopgap solution but ......if it works it works

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
