Airbox

An original 1600ti brochure shows the air box as having angled tubes going to the Solex carburettors and the snorkels being identical, that is, not the mirror images as in the 2002ti.  The straight tubes to the carbs as in the above pics is typical of the NK ti air boxes not the later ti models.

I’m not certain the original 1600ti airbox was identical to the 2002ti airbox. I believe the original 1600ti had a remotely-mounted brake booster and, thus, the 1600ti airbox did not need the “booster dent” on the underside, which the 2002ti airbox needed.

It may be that a 2002ti airbox works fine on a 1600ti, but I do believe there was a difference originally. This issue has been previously discussed, probably with photos, too!

Regards,

Steve
