Quality/or lack thereof on new parts!

Carb source ??

 

Many people recommend Pierce Manifolds or Carbs Unlimited (carburetion.com) for Webers.

 

I used the latter and paid a few extra bucks to have it jetted by them according the the infamous CD jetting numbers. 

Popped it on and was very satisfied... once I adjusted valves properly.. set timing properly... installed Hotspark... and THEN messed with the idle/mix of my 32/36.. all was good.

 

And as I have evangelized before (even though I am a noob) the mix setting was very particular to find the sweet spot. I found that even a 180 degree turn in one direction or the other can make it run like crap, but that trial, drive, twist a 1/4 really lets you dial it in. 

 

And as far as parts.. I have had surprises on fit and quality too.
