Quick IE Stainless Exhaust Question

I have a question regarding the IE Stainless Steel Exhaust Kit and hope someone here can answer it for me.

 

Which way does the bend in the center sections (resonator) point to when installed? Does it point towards the chassis or down towards the ground? This bend is on the rear end of the resonator and mates with the portion of the exhaust kit that goes over the rear subframe.

 

And yes I've tried searching here and google for an answer or clear pictures that could show me but no luck. Also called IE and the person on the phone wasn't sure.

Here you go.  Sorry, got on later than I expected.  There's a car under my lift, so I was bending over it to take these.  If you need better photos, I canove it tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the photos! It is hard to tell but the rear tube on the resonator looks to kick up at the bend. Can you confirm this?

 

Here is a photo of my exhaust that I exaggerated the bend with a red line underneath. 

Is this correct?

I’ve seen people mount it both ways. The way you have it is fine. Just make sure its not rattling againt the driveshaft or something. 

 

Some people have flipped it over for more ground clearance (when permittable) #lowlife

I don't believe mine is bent and I have the same.  However hard to tell at this angle.  I would think the bend however would be non-consequential regardless.

Tdh, 02tradition and 69Bimmer02, thanks for the info! I tried it the other way with the tube pointing down and it didn’t seem right with clearance but I did not have the muffler on at the time. 

 

Hopefully I can get a photo that will put my mind at ease.
