Don't think they tell you anything - interesting small S stamped on there, in the style of the later painted S that noted an LSD. Easiest way to tell what you have is to rotate the shafts and count the revolutions - if you get 4 and a bit turns to one then, well, you know the answer!

 

and if both output flanges turn in the same direction you have an LSD in there, but I doubt it :-)

The original rear oil seal I pulled off the longneck is 36x52x7. The one BMW calls for is a 36x52x9. Either someone has changed it in the past and used a different seal or BMW changed the spec somewhere along the line. I'm going with the 9mm.
