Chromed grills on '74 - '76 photos?

I'm contemplating doing a chrome-tape job on a spare set of grills for my '76 that would replicate the '73 look for the horizontal slabs (kind of -- since there's no replicating the extra body element and not sure how I'd do the perimeter of them since it doesn't wrap all the way around).

 

Does anybody have any photos of this done or know of a thread? I've tried the search but not finding anything. I saw it done on a '74 car at a Bay Area Swap n Show many years ago and thought it looked nice.

 

Also, is this a lame idea and should I just stop my quest to have a '73 roundie instead of a '76?  

(I'm pretty happy with the '73 bumper mod and just put on euro signals. just sayin;)

Some soft of styling film that will stretch would probably be better.

i did a set, using chrome mylar tape..there are picture someplace on the forum...they were posted years ago

I did mine with 1/8" stick on chrome trim,

took about 1 hr and about $20.  go for it.
