body and interior Rocker Panel Molding Problem

Quick question....I lost the rocker mold while driving one night. I ordered a new one and noticed some of the black plastic clips were broken so I ordered new ones. The new clips are different and white! They don't seem to hold as well.

 

1) Did BMW change the clips to a new upgrade clip?

 

2) I put a metal clip at the front of the molding. Is that correct?

 

3) Is there a better way to install the molding? Maybe stainless flat head bolt with locknut?

Metal clip in the front..  Yes  BMW redesigned the clips some time ago. ..   There are OE clips and there are aftermarket clips and they are not the same. Be sure you have OE BMW clips and they will hold fine

I just reinstalled the rocker panels moldings this morning. Of course my original clips are in great shap and there was no need to replace. I just needed to replace the metal fasteners.
