I'm sure you guys are thinking, oh god, here we go again. He wants to sell his car. And yes, I do. It's time for college and I'm not allowed to bring my 2002 :( But this time, the car is very different from the last time you saw it.

For people who don't know, The car was involved in a small accident last year, I never had it fixed properly because I didn't have the money until this winter, I sourced a Nose and new front fenders, (Thanks Todd!). And this is where my journey began...

I wanted to do everything properly this time around, no half assing, no cutting corners,I wanted to make the car proper. I got a job at Vintage Car shop and so they helped me with the whole project and made this car a MONSTER!

1. The motor was pulled from the car

2. Old nose removed

3. Motor was "refreshed"

-new Gaskets

-new Rear Seal

-Valve Job

-new timing chain tensioners

-we took off the bearings on the bottom end and they were PERFECT so we didn't bother replacing them.

4. Milled head because it wasn't perfectly flat

Parts the engine has-

-Forged Pistons

-300 degree cam

-Ported

-Polished Rods

4. The whole motor was degreased and painted.

Block- battleship grey

Head- Silver

5. In addition to the engine, all the little things were cleaned and painted as well...alternator, starter, headers, etc....

6. We knew this engine was gonna ROCK and it does :)

7. Flywheel was resurfaced, New clutch

8. The car was then aircraft stripped to bare metal, turns out the car had practically ZERO BONDO on it!

Here is a list of all the upgrades and things the car has done to it~

Suspension-

-Bilstein Sports front and rear

-Bavauto springs

-New front bushings

Brakes-

-new front pads and calipers

-Bavauto slotted rotors

Engine-

-Stahl Headers

-Pertronix Tii Distributor

-8mm spark plug wires

-TWM intake manifold

-Dual 40 side drafts

-New engine mounts

Transmisson

-New SACHS clutch

-changed fluid

-Car has an LSD!!!

Wheels and Tires

-Pratically new Hankook RS3s on back and Fuzions on the front. 225 rear 205 front!

-XXR 002 15x8's

Lighting

-H4 Headlights

-Fog Lights in brake ducts

Exhaust

-Stahl Headers-previously states

-Ansa Resonator

-Magnaflow Muffler

Body

-Turbo Flares

-IE front skirt

Interior

-Drift style steering wheel

-Beautiful Recaros from a 1980's Ferrari, have been in storage for 20 years until I put them into my car. Very low miles...

Car also comes with an extra set of stock wheels, a rear roundie bumper, the original front bumper and a few boxes of parts...

The car isn't perfect. But it IS rust free and it's very straight. You can't tell it was in an accident at all. It's a very solid car, it's a very cool car as well. It still needs work however, I just don't have the time or money to finish it.

It needs:

-interior

-a real paint job- the paint on it is rattle can because I couldn't afford to go a real place, once painted this car will look like a million bucks.

-new shifter bushings on the tower

and im sure a few other things which I can't think of.

If you've already read this far and If you're serious about this car and you're not just wasting my time or being a prick about it, send me an email! carter.kramer@verizon.net

Here is a recent article about the car on eGarage.com

http://www.egarage.com/current-interests/an-enthusiasts-journey-to-rebuild-bmw-2002/

Once again, this car has SOOOO much potential, it's a very straight car and all it needs is a bit more love, I just don't have time for it because I'm in college but I'm happy that I saved the car and never gave up. I want the car to go to a good home.

i wonder what the asking price is?

$7500, I've spent close to 20 on the car so I'm just looking to get some of my money back but it was worth the money, the experience was life changing. :D

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
