How to fix my lazy tach

The one in my 73 does it as well. I cleaned everything up and put in a higher quality ground on the IP, but it didn't solve the problem. Maybe the issue is on the coil side?

I had the same problem on my 76. I tried all the connections and an aux ground at the console, still not working. Then I cleaned all the connections on the coil and used a pair of pliers to tighten up the connectors so they fit tighter. Problem solved. Forgot which wire was the correct one so I did them all.

I'll try this and report back, thanks!
