Rare e21 combo for sale in NJ

Many of you may have seen this when I posted it up with the m30, I sold the m30 and now it's the two cars for sale as a complete package. The first is a rare 1981 315 Euro shell that has only a little above 200KM on the proper working euro gauge cluster. It has nice and straight Euro bumpers that have a little pitting but just need some refinishing, and a FULL Zender bodykit that is in good condition, including the trunk spoiler, side skirts, front and rear air dams (these alone are pretty valuable as you know.) Body is fairly good and very straight, with some rust, but definitely needs a new trunk which the second car has a perfect rust free donor for. It has the NON-popout rear windows, rear HEADRESTS and speakers in the decklid. The chasis and frame are in good clean condition. Car will come on a set of 13" turbines with so-so tires and is pretty complete (minus the engine and trans) and no seats.

The second car is a complete 1983 320is with 226k on the working cluster. I drove it home from PA about 40 miles and have put on almost 500 additional miles and it runs and drives quite well. It has BEAUTIFUL e21 Recaro sport seats that are in great condition, the passenger seat is MINT, and the drivers has a small tear in the upper left bolster, and the reclining slider was removed but still functions perfectly with a pull out the bottom. The Rear seat is perfect, the carpet is very nice, the sport steering wheel is in great condition, I have a set of brand new Bilstein front shocks for it and the rear shocks are good. Brakes are solid and the basketweaves are in nice condition but in need of a good scrubbing' tires are decent. Car starts and runs fine, trans shifts well but shifter is a bit sloppy and needs the usual rebuild. All of the lights are in great shape. This car has quite a bit of small rust areas and I would suggest gutting the car and putting everything into the 315 Euro and scrapping the 320 body.

I also have a very nice MOMO Alpina steering wheel and hub to include that just needs to be recovered, and a hard to find 323 6cyl subframe with like new bushings. It has some light surface rust but would clean up and powdercoat nicely.

I'm looking to get $2800 for everything which I think is a steal considering the value. Thanks!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
