ANSA muffler broke..

So I bought an ANSA muffler exactly a month ago, and found that it broke a couple days ago.. the hanger mount before the muffler sheared off just after the welds. I also found the paint on the piping after the tip is literally falling off. Not like rock chips, but can be lifted off in fairly large chunks. Sent an email to ANSA about it, hoping to get a response on monday. Anyone else had any quality issues with them? I'd like to replace it with the same thing just because I love the sound, but if other people are having recent quality issues with them I'll have to go with something else.

No help sorry but are you using the ansa resonator pipe as well? How much betters the sound than stock? Standard 02 header?

BMW rubber donut with the plastic insert

which will eliminate damaging vibrations?

most of us reweld the metal hangers to match up

to the 1974-on square body - then you have reinforced

from the original non-supported tabs ?

and I always repaint new mufflers with high zinc

content paints which stick, and protect - before installing.

The same bracket broke on my ANSA before I bought the car. Just weld it back on. Hope you get a response from your inquiry.

Most exhaust paint is just there to protect it during shipping. You are better off scuffing it up and applying a good high temp paint like Griot's or Eastwood.

Yes to both issues + 2 front resonator bustin' loose. I loved the sound too. Running the Ireland SS now. That was a nice change! The Ansa is just laying around the garage now.
