Ancient Water Pump Repair Kit
One odd plus about being out here in Malaysia is the weird old stock parts that appear... A local parts shop contacted me offering a water pump kit... The box seems to be mid 1960s, the parts for a BMW 2000. I will try installing it in an old pump body... Hopefully maturing on the shelf for 50+ years will give me improved water flow and perfect sealing..........

Brand new OEM ignition switch sticks in “start”
Enjoyed an epic (for us, anyhow) Saturday morning C&C here in Sarasota yesterday. We had a great lineup: 3 cherry Polaris on blue CS coupes, a badboy Bavaria and two tiis. Some got away before we could grab this pic: So I went to crank Zouave up and drive away, and for the xteenth time my brand new BMW factory ignition switch stayed stuck on START!! Had the stereo on and thus didn’t notice right away that the starter was still engaged as I pushed into first gear. Grrrrrmurder….

Fitting new reFittingar quarter window seals
I really struggled installing these seals, they are a real barsteward to fit and there are a few tricks that are not immediately obvious. So, I have decided to share "my" method, it may differ from your method, but it works, so please if you've done it a different way, that's fine, so long as it works for you. Freeing Stuck Rear Brake Adjusters
One of my least favorite jobs on a 2002 is adjusting the rear brake shoes in order to lessen the brake pedal travel. In principle, it's easy—you just pull off the rear wheels, take a 17mm open-end wrench, put it on each of the two adjusting nuts on the backing plate behind each brake drum, rotate the drum, turn the adjuster until you can hear and feel the shoe rubbing against the drum, back the adjuster off a tiny bit, do the other adjuster, then move to the other side and do the same on the oth

Well, one good thing about getting the motor running, it does provide some quick feedback on if you have any leaks. After going through the mis-adventure of the leaking heater core, (turned out to be just the hose clamp to the heater core on the driver's side), I did identify 3 leaks while running the motor.
