Tire Date Code (was optima update and info)

When buying tires, check the date code on the sidewall. Don't buy tires more than a year or two old. The code looks like this:

DOT M6 RV TIHR wwyy

ww = week of manufacture

yy = year of manufacture

That's a good tip Curt. I'm just getting ready to buy a set of All Terrians for my wife's Jeep from Tire Rack...for $600 worth of rubber they better be "new"! :-) I should be ok from Tire Rack though...but never hurts to check.
