  1. It does start with 422. Next question is date of manufacture. I’ve had it only a couple months and going through it and finding that it matters for some parts what month it was manufactured for MY 1974.
  2. More curious to confirm my year, original spec and options if any, as it has been updated and changed through the decades. I’m told it’s a 1974, but the records I have from the previous owners show it all over the board.
  3. I did read the whole thing, so it ended up being a good story. I’ll see if BMW can help. I agree, not wanting to pay $500 like the Porsche certificate. Thanks.
  4. Thanks @HBChris. I’ll reach out to them. And updated the profile. Hopefully there are some 2002 owners in Scottsdale/Phoenix. Thanks.

  6. Has anyone tried to get detailed info on their 2002? i.e. build sheets, specs, invoice, etc? I reached out to the BMW classic group, but had t heard anything back. Would like to get the original spec information on my 1974. Thanks.
  7. It was the least fun window to work on, for sure.
  8. Yes, one vertical gasket. It has a channel for the metal retainer and glass plus the outer flap that is the exterior/visible part of the gasket.
  9. Not sure what that part # is but there are two gaskets for the pop out windows. The vertical one and the gasket that wraps around the rest of the window frame. It is a single piece even though it looks like two separate ones. You can get an OEM one or the Uro gasket. The Uro was ok for me and definitely less expensive.
  10. I just did my pop out gaskets and the vertical one is not that difficult, but the glass needs to come out. You’re not replacing the “C” shaped gasket that fills out the rest of the frame? The glass is held into the metal channel by a small cotter pin at the top, so peel back the existing gasket to access that. Or you can remove the metal channel with the glass, but I would recommend taking the glass out first, then the channel and gasket. Not hard, but definitely don’t try and pull the glass out without removing the cotter pin.
  11. Well let me know if you want to take a chance and shoot me an offer. I’m trying to slim down the inventory.
  12. The gaskets are on Pelican parts, part #’s 63-13-8-454-110 and 111. $50 ea, I think? Not sure of the lenses. I’m open to offers of them. Thanks.
  13. That’s what I figured. Thanks @CoastalCrush.
  14. Would there need to be any front end modification to accommodate these? I’ve got a 1974. Don’t use the existing buckets, I assume?
  15. Responded with some pics. Thanks.
  16. UPDATED PRICE : $100 shipped (continental US) Selling a set of OEM BMW euro front turn signals. These are the flush to the fender design. They do function, but could use a refurb. Pitting on the top chrome, one lense has a quarter-sized missing piece near the mount hole and the seals are dried out. They do need some cosmetic restoration, but the frames are in good order. Gaskets and lenses are available at on line parts stores. Asking $100 shipped in the continents US. Thanks.
  17. Selling my Stahl header off of a 1974 BMW 2002. Photos I have are too large for the site, so please PM me for pix. Header is a 4-into-1 and has a 2" outlet after the collector. It's a Stahl, so fit and quality are spot on for the 2002. Header is uncoated. There is some surface rust, but not corrosion or anything that affects the header performance. I'm located in Scottsdale, AZ, so local pick up works or I can ship anywhere in the continental US via FedEx for $25.
  18. Piggybacking the booster topic, are there any smaller brake booster substitutes for the 2002 or would they all be similarly sized?
  19. Has anyone done the Chase Bays delete? I saw it during research, but haven't heard of anyone using it.
  20. Looking to see if anyone is selling a dual Weber 40 DCOE or Mikuni side draft set up, meaning carbs, intake manifolds, linkages. Preferably in nice running condition. Thanks.
