  1. Just lowered the price. I will be including rebuilt driveline from Portland driveline. not yet installed....
  2. Sorry to butt in but I need a good hood and trunk for my 72
  3. Good luck on your door. Are doing a respray in same color? just curious...
  4. I just remembered the installation last week of brand new napa battery and new emergency brake lines both sides.
  5. I am listing my 1971 roundie for sale. It is stock and purchased from a woman who had not driven it since 1992. I began the restoration and not even a month in was given the opportunity to purchase a 1972 tii that I didn't even know they had in the garage. As much as I would like to do both projects it is just not realistic. I am selling the 71 to help fund my tii renovation. I started the project and someone will need to finish it. Here is a list of what has been done. Removed old rubber brake lines and re-installed Irelan engineering braided lines Removed rear hard lines and replaced with new Replaced front calipers with full rebuilds from Ireland Engineering Replaced rear brakes completely (all new) Drained gas tank and put in fresh gas Drained and flushed radiator Oil Change and filter New Oil pressure sensor (just in case) New gas lines New brake hoses Rebuilt solex carb (runs great) Had original wheels sandblasted and powder coated I am sure there is a list of things I am forgetting. The car starts and idles nicely. I have only driven it a short distance as the tires had a flat spot from sitting. The newly powder coated wheels come with nice (80%) set of tires. I just ordered a rebuilt driveline from Portland DL which will be included with the sale. The engine has a few oil leaks which will need to be sorted out. Also the rear diff should probably get a drain and fill. I am asking 3500.00 as is which represent what I currently have into the car. Call Adam at 509-954-9117 for more detail. I live in Spokane WA. Location: Spokane, WA, USA Year: 1971 Make: BMW Model: 2002
  6. Awesome car! I live in Spokane and have a couple of roundies. If you are ever over this way we should meet up and space out on each others cars. Have fun.
  7. I got it open. It was a matter of rotating the lock ever so slightly to the right and then alas...the sweet spot! By the way I am looking for a really nice set of door cards for my "72". I believe the tobacco color is what I have currently.
  8. So many helpful tips! I'm kinda leaning towards the behind the license plate plan. Thanks for all the spare parts offers I think that is really cool. Good mojo here....
  9. I have a 72 tii with a locked trunk. put my key in and the lock itself is definitely unlocked but trunk will still not open? I am wondering if I will have to drill the lock? This would be a shame:(
  10. Thanks for all the great advice gents! I got lazy yesterday and will be going under today to start the rear brake line switch. I will sink my teeth into the oil leaks a little later this week. Can most of the oil leaks be fixed without pulling the engine? My mechanic skills, although improving, are probably a 6 out of 10. Hopefully I can handle all the gaskets here at the house as I really don't want to use a shop $$
  11. Thanks for the replies. I installed the new emergency brake lines today and everything went together nicely. Tomorrow I will continue with my brake resurrection. I have already installed the new braided lines on the front and will do the rears in the morning. The access for this looks like it is going to be really challenging! Any tips?
  12. Thanks blunt. Now that I have has the car idling in the garage a bit I have notice a pretty good amount of oil leaks. Where are the most likely sources of leaks for a car that has been sitting for twenty?
  13. ordered some e-brake cables and figured I would get new brake fluid hoses for the res. did the braided hoses and new hard lines in the back as well. Hopefully my master is alright? do these rot when sitting for too long?
  14. ok so took it back apart and it looks like the ebrake cables are/were stuck in the somewhat on position. suppose I will need new cables. managed to get the drum on but still tight.
  15. car has been parked since 1992. Perhaps the cable for ebrake is falsely tifgt. I did loosen it at the brake handle but maybe it didn't back off at wheel ? I will go wiggle it...
  16. I have been trying to get the rear passenger rear brake drum (new) on for 2 days!!?? I replaced the rear shoes and have no fluid yet to the new expander. I have my eccentric adjusters working nicely and ket cannot get the drum on. Any advice here would be helpful.... tapped from the bottom so as to "square up" with rubber hammer and still no love.
  17. Hello all, I am trying to find a local bmw shop to work on my 1972 BMW 2002tii. I would prefer a shop that is familiar with our type vehicle and has experience fitting 2002 hoods and fenders. My car is in fair codition bodywise but definitely needs hood and respray. I am going to stay with the original agave color. would be willing to take car to seattle if necessary. any good leads?
