Hey guys I just got a 1976 2002 for a steal lol. I have had two e30s and well I think its about time for me to get into the 2002 lol. I got the car from a guy who had built his 2002 from the ground up. he stated that he put in tii front, rear sway bar's and that the shocks where also Tii. How can I confirm this to be true ?. The reason I got such a good deal was after the guy put all this money into the motor and in to the car it failed big time on him and so he left it in the yard for eight years. Then I came around and took it off his hands I was doing the paper work with him and chatting at the same time. He stated that he drove the car for about 200mile and then he suddenly heard banging so he parked it for a day. The next day he try'ed to take the spark plugs out sadly he said that number two plug was stuck so he thought a valve dropped. So I kept asking him question and chatting away till the time came to take the car to my home. So I got her home and gave her a nice shower. So the next day I started the rebuild of the 2002 so much fun right lol. First thing I started was on the motor I needed to see why this fresh heart gave up so fast. So I took the head off and everything els that seemed to be bolted on to it that was some fun lol. so the moment of truth came mind you that the car sat for 8 years i was the first person to see its heart. You would not believe what I saw it was not a valve it was water in cylinder's 2 and 3. First off I was so happy but my happiness was short lived when I cleaned up the water and carbon residue. The water pitted the piston cylinder's and the reason for all this guys trouble in the first hand was. The head he got from his friend was warped and the boom sound he heard was cross fire from cylinder one to number two and a blown head gasket. But i still could not turn the motor over at that time yet. So I put some oil on top of the pistons and taped them slightly every day for the next 3 days. Then came the diesel fuel witch worked a lot better so now the pistons are down to where I can hon the cylinders and its all set done. Now I need some help with identifying if this is a high compression motor or a low compression motor. The head has the numbers 121 and cast number ( R53 R121-02-500809 KN 11) is this a good head or a bad head. The intake valve is 44mm and the pistons don't have the bath tub look. I want to know if this a good match of parts. I don't want to put it all together and have it blow up. Dos this head go with the pistons.

The pics of these pistons are not from my car but from TII in the junk yard that looked just like mine
